12. Miami Dolphins Cordarrelle Patterson, WR, Tennessee The Dolphins stick with a wide receiver here, though it’s now Tennessee’s Patterson, whose size and speed make him the first receiver off the board. Previous mock: Keenan Allen, WR, California http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/red_zone/Philly-com-2013-NFL-Mock-Draft-Post-Combine-edition.html
Passing on Bjoern Werner for Cordarrelle Patterson...I could get with the program on that. I won't cry over it. Nor would I cry if we took Cornellius Carradine over Werner.
Tank at 12? I think he's at least as good a pro as Werner, Yet I hope he falls to the second for us because I doubt Ireland uses The 12 on him.
I think Carradine will be a better pass rusher than Werner. But I think Werner will be a better overall player, especially in this system, at right end opposite Cameron Wake. I also think that when you consider you're only getting 4 years out of these rookies before they're paid commensurate to their abilities, the fact that Werner should be ready to plug in for all 4 of those years whereas Carradine will plug in more like 3 or maybe 3.5 of those years...should be a consideration. However, no tears if Carradine is there at 12 and we take him, even if it's over Werner. Watching so much tape of Werner the last few days, you'd take either player. Well, anyone other than Simon would. They're both so good.
