Not quite the exact same. We will be favored against anyone in a series, but us losing one is not inconceivable.
Indeed I'm being Fin-O for the day! Heat version! All kidding aside obviously there are teams that can beat us and/or give us a series. My point was just that it's funny how opposing teams (mainly fans) seem to care so much more about beating us than we do when we lose the occasional game.
Nice out of context quote. I said he had the POTENTIAL to be. He's a guy who does everything pretty well. He's a good passer, good shooter, has a nice dribble, can finish, shoot the three. He plays on a team where he isn't asked to do a lot of things a PG would usually do. Also when I said it, he was among the top of the league in efficiency in PG's so it wasn't outlandish.
Exactly, a lot of people would. I just don't understand it. Anything short of a championship is a failure in my eyes. In any sport.
Seems I know what the hell I am talking about. and yes..next time they matchup in Miami, will be a massacre.
Hey Section, any idea if Hollinger's Team Efficiency formula changed at all between the 07-08 and 08-09 seasons? Looks like there was a significant increase in offense league-wide, which doesn't make sense.
I can't help but wonder if Lebron James is in possession of the Gem of Cytorak. (Marvel/X-Men fans should get this)
2 problems with that imo...1) If a guy isnt getting consistent run then he shouldnt be called a disappointment. You know what he is. He is what hes always been. 2) If we're dependent on Novak for anything more then 10-12 minutes a night and 2-3 3's in a given night we're in deep doo doo. The only reason he was signed was to stack contracts for a larger move at some point. Thats the only reason half these moves ever get made.
Not really. Chalmers is pretty good, not knocking him because hes not terrible but hes an average PG. At no point will he ever be better then (in no particular order): Kyrie Rose Westbrook Nash Jrue Holliday Kyle Lowry Parker Conley Deron Jeff Teague Rondo CP3 Lilliard Jameer Nelson George Hill Jennings Grevais Vasquez Rubio Ty Lawson (Or ancient Andre Miller for that matter) Wall Curry Kemba To me Chalmers is in a category where hes a bottom tier PG who is still average at the position. Hes a perfect complimentary piece like a Lin or a Felton or a Goran Dragic but if you need him to carry you or be consistent as anything more then what hes asked to do in Miami now, night in and night out, youre in trouble. He reminds me of a lesser Derek Fisher from 10-12 years ago. 2 or 3 other players are the main focus and when you take your eye off Chalmers he hits a few 3's. Thats a role player to me, albeit a good one.
75% of the time the offense generates with the ball in James or Wades hands. Hard to be a top ten point guard when you are largely playing off the ball. When you have a guy like James I don't know that having a top ten point guard would be too beneficial. He is too dangerous when you get him playing the point forward role.
I dont disagree with any of that. Im just flatly stating that if James wasnt there and Wade wasnt there and Chalmers was the PG of an average NBA team he wouldnt be as productive as he is with those guys around. I simply dont believe that Chalmers is that good of a player but hes perfect for the role hes in.
Sorry but no excuse for him missing open 3's when the ONLY thing he does well.....is hit 3's. And it's been going on for a couple months now. I love Novak, but he is playing horrible right now.
I can't wait for the playoffs. I mean it was nice to see the Heat extend the streak to 14 games and it was nice to see them show that they could beat a team that had beaten them twice early on (for those who were worried about that, I wasn't among them), but I just don't care that much about the regular season. I want to see the Heat beat Indiana and San Antonio, but other than those two games, I'm not really looking forward to any other regular season games. Even for those games "looking forward to" is relative. And relative to how much I'm looking forward to the playoffs, I'm barely looking forward to those regular season games.
Disagree. Chalmers would average 16 and 7 on many of the teams that you just posted their PG's. Every time, (including Game 4 of the NBA FINALS) that RIO is asked to do more, he produces BIG numbers. He can score and defend. He is clearly better than the guys I bolded.
About 3 weeks ago I was looking at the schedule to try to go see the Knicks in Cleveland...I then noticed it was the day after playing the Heat and they likely would be very flat. Guess I was right, no one is playing defense..layups are being missed. Glad I saved the $100 it would've cost for a decent seat.
Wow, Amare has totally shocked me since returning. I'm eating some trade Amare crow thus far. Great comeback by NY win or lose.
