Holy smokes, look at the hands at :41 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJtozzcJTNs Intersting prospect at 1st glance and good size/speed and aggressiveness, but you have to wonder about the quality of the competition and a youtube clip never tells the whole story. I you know more about this kid please share, thx.
I avoid watching highlights. But if we can find actual game film of this kid, I'd love to see it. Thanks for continuing to bring interesting prospects on here, Jim. I notice you are doing a lot of DEs. I take it you feel strongly about adding a rush end in this draft?
It's a need imo, but one of many needs. I just happened to be looking at some more obscure players, same thing as a while back when I was looking at WR Jheranie Boyd. Longshots- but at first glance Bass and Jefferson seem to warrant a closer look, jmo. In terms of rush DEs I keep going back to Corey Lemonier as a possible value, and also DevinTaylor/Mallicah Goodman and Corny Washington. Michael Buchanan has a heck of a 1st step and outside rush, but he is pretty light, Okafor is a tad slow. I like Damontre Moore, but there are justified concerns there imo. My solution to the pass rush would be to draft Ogletree 1st rd, Lemonier 2nd -3rd and Sean Porter 3rd to 4th rd. Odrick isn;t an ideal 4/3 DE, but imo a player with some value and a good passing down DT. Bring in Lemonier to DE on pass downs, and eventually have Ogletree and Porter at OLB and Misi in the middle. It all sounds good imo, but we'd still need to draft WRs and DBs.
If Lemonier is there in round three and we have not taken a DE yet, I'll be pissed when Ireland passes on him because he believes Vernon Olivier is going to be incredible.
Half of the quarterbacks in the highlight look like high school players. It is hard to judge how good he is from those.
Here's some Lemonier video- I like him, great 1st step and the pass rusher I'm looking for. But look at the 1st play here- he gets blown out by a FB. All these DE/OLB types come with caveats imo. But as to Lemonier- I do like him, I like his 1st step, I like him as a situational pass rusher, an OLB candidate and a possible successor to Wake at weak side DE. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJFUIUgpizg I like Damontre Moore, but I think that Lemoniere has a better 1st step and is overall quicker, faster. Look very much like a guy who can help the pass rush imo, could be a rd 2-3 value. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSM2rxG-fWE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSM2rxG-fWE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nrsR9cmASpc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FM2XdkoiiUI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vmH-8vFJl9o
