How much of a difference are we talking here? If it's a minute isolated screw up on one player on the entire roster, then **** it and move on.... and trade me Kaepernick *******. If not, thennnnnnnnn
so you lowered Brooks' salary... based on inside information that you acquired... went thru some type of process to get that confirmed and approved here... yet, didn't increase Brown's salary because it didn't benefit you?
yup, that's exactly what happened. I joined a San Fran site to have them aid me in double-checking every contract down to the penny.
before I realized Tarell Brown received an escalator, there was a difference of like 5-6 million. when you start off 8 million over the cap, a potential discrepancy of 5-6 million makes a difference.
I'm the Jets, I'm living on a prayer. So hold on to what you got, it doesn't make a difference... about escalators at this point, just go with whats in the spreadsheet.
Are there pitchforks? Cause when you really stop and think about it, things never really amount to much unless pitchforks get involved. Seriously stop and think about it, if you heard someone went on a pitchfork rampage you'd be shocked. A shooting spree? Yeah, you'd be set back, but not shocked. Just trying to make sure people know where that line is, because once you cross it, you never truly come back over. Gots to look out for them pitchforks.
If by "inside information" you mean ESPN news yesterday morning, then yes, I acquired inside information. you mean like emailing this news to Mach b/c the $1.6M salary adjustment happened before Mach posted it? Then yes, I did that and changed Brooks' salary on my page. Then Mach informed me Tarell Brown reached bonuses that weren't listed on Sportrac. I was waiting to hear back about something else contract-related before adjusting their salaries. wrong. It hurts me, stoopid. If I had increased Tarell Brown's cap hit to 3.9 million (vs 1.9 million), it would now be in Washington, but b/c I didn't think to do so when Stringer inquired about him (b/c I initially had no intentions of trading Brown), I'm now stuck with Ahmad Brooks at $6,650,000 rather than 5,050,000. So yeah, I tried to be all sneaky about it so I could screw myself out of 1.6 million.
Fellas I just heard that Jared Allen restructed his deal 3 days before the Super Bowl. It's a thuper thecret restructure but apparently he's going to play for like 1.0 mil a year! Woohoo savings!
Apparently Joe Thomas was gonna play for a case of beer a week and some really good bud. Wish I'd have known before I traded him. Couldn't resist.
James Laurinaitis, Chris Long and Sam Bradford have all agreed to take half salary for 2013... saving the Rams $25m in cap room... in exchange the city of St Louis is allowing them to bungee jump from the St. Louis arch on a weekly basis, on Tuesdays between 10am and noon.
Please change your salaries to what is listed in the spreadsheet. I won't hesitate to change them for you and if you refuse to follow my rules, I will find a new 49ers GM. The commish has spoken.
Then change them yourself and find another GM since you want to talk down to me about it despite it being your first time addressing me. You said the league would be operating off ACTUAL 2013 cap numbers <stated below>. Excuse me for taking this literally and thinking my total salary should've been lowered by $3.6 million b/c of what the original contracts seem to state. That's an extra $3.6 million I had to cut just to get under the salary cap. Perhaps next time you should clarify it better so that GMs know that "actual" doesn't mean "actual" if it differs from what Sportrac falsely has listed. It's not like thousands of dollars were spread out across the entire roster; it's 3 players who seemed to have signed atypical contracts which sportrac didn't catch.
You have been total multiple times by Mach to change your salaries... just because I don't directly tell you to do it, it does not mean you can ignore it. Because the nature of the NFL salaries and the fact that the NFL doesn't let them out quite like they use to, there will be discrepancies between various sites. We cannot help that; we can only make due with what we're given. If you can prove that the cap hits are different with a reputable source and that they were that actual number before rosters were released at 12:01AM EST on February 4th, then we can change those specific players. If you want to leave though, it isn't going to hurt my feelings.
Jags do it again this year, last year it only took a 2nd rounder for Peyton. This year it only takes #2 to get Brady.
First? Philip Rivers/Stevie Johnson/Fred Jackson and picks didn't qualify as a blockbuster? ;p And boy do people get their panties in a wad over minor stuff. Just take what's in the spreadsheet and be a man about it.
