2013 GM League Team Selection Thread

It's not so impossible, I can usually get all but 5 or less one of their top 3. That's pretty good IMO.

Complain about what? "List your top 5" means putting your favorite team 3rd, right.

 

Just to follow up on this, if the rest of your top 5 are really popular non-lotto wanted teams, you may not get them either. That's part of it. You could be in the lotto and wind up with none of your top 5 teams, just so everyone is clear.

 

I'm hashing the last of the other stuff with Todd out and making sure people have the chance to make last changes that they understand the rules.

I saw that, so I listed my scrappy of scraps third... not only that but I placed my trump card in that spot, knowing that nobody else put in a bid for them. I am golden and will look forward to a year of travesty.

Yes, anyone and everyone can still revise their lists. Just keep in mind, as I said, non lotto get first dibs on all teams.

I'd advise dumping JAC though, as I stated the bit about fans and their teams earlier.

so, in regards to the GMs who aren't being given their top choice so that another GM can get his 3rd rather than 5th, are we asking those other GMs to make sure they actually care b/c it'd suck to screw over a GM's top choice for no reason, no? If me getting my 3rd team rather than 5th means another GM losing out on his top choice, then give me my 5th team... or even 6th. WADR, I just think it's unfair if a GM gets penalized (given his 4th rather than 1st choice) b/c a big chunk of GMs chose to list a bunch of overlapping teams, no disrespect to them. What I thought you were going to do was use a lottery with each GM's first pick so that we all have a fair shot at landing our top team, then repeat for pick 2, etc so that it's all random and fair. If listing a team first that no one else has #1 doesn't matter, then I'll go back to my original, desired list. If it makes things more complicated, I apologize.

As for that part, it's never been that way. Normally every team just gets assigned and that's that and Griddles tries to make sure everyone got a team they listed, but I wanted to have some fun with the MIA lottery. I doubt it returns next year.

 

What do you expect when "list your top 5" doesn't truly mean top 5, at least not chronologically? I'm guessing lot of GMs care more about getting their top choice than getting their 3rd rather than 5th.

 

I own 32 worlds. Rank them in order of preferred living and I'll make sure to teleport you to choice #3.
