I could do without the grey pants, but other than that its perfect.
But this f'ed up organization is too stupid to do something that smart.

Why is the organization stupid? Because you don't like the GM?

Second least "f'ed up organization" in the division baby :knucks:.... I actually think chances are good they are going to make the unis look retro. And If they went ultra modern, i guarantee you they roll out the throwbacks a few games a year like a lot of other teams are doing. Why not us ?

Believe me i was Ross's biggest detractor, still dispise him. But someone seems to have slapped some sense into him. I'm on Board with the efforts of Dee,Philbin,Ireland.... I think they're addressing issues that have been ignored for a long time in this franchise, and have us on the right track.

I think those grey pants/jersey/face mask with that faded orange could be really cool, it's just an alternative, the other two are bad ***.

    Those unis make me drool.

Retro striping for the home whites. The all grey is my personal favorite

Though in practice, I wonder which unis would be worn when. The aqua is only worn for night home games and occasional away games where the opponent wears white at home. I don't know if you can get away with making the grey your away jersey. It would be unique. I can't recall another grey jersey out there. A Seahawks alternate maybe?

You could sub the grey jersey for white as an away jersey. The middle uni would be an away uni when the home opponent is wearing white. For home night games, I would swap the grey pants from the middle uni for white pants. Away unis would have grey pants and home unis would always be white.

So...yeah, I think uniforms are a good topic :chuckle:

I don't particularly like the silver/grey look, except with the aqua tops. However, I think to pull it off you'd also need an alternate silver helmet since I think a white one would throw the look off (Nike was apparently screwing around with a prototype of a silver helmet, so you never know).

To me, the one detail that needs to be changed to really make those uniforms retro is the pants striping. The orange stripes need to be on the outside. Minor detail, to be sure, but I just like it better that way.

"the fin isnt proportion to the dolphins body"

    "the weird white stripe"

    "the colors are messed up"

I guess you guys can't read? Or have severly limited reading comprehension? It's already been stated that this is a leaked PROTOTYPE

There is a very very good chance that is our logo, but with changes to make it better. But some negative nancies have to find something to **** on with this team.

Because it consistently makes bad decisions since JJ left.

Wanny, Saban, Culpepper, Cameron, Parcells, Talking to HCs while Sparano still employed, 4pm games, Gator Day, asking if your mother is a whore...

Sure, maybe some didn't look like bad decisions when you made them, but some were pretty damn obvious.

Confidence in the organization is at a low. Not surprising.

The Nike prototype uniforms are awesome.

That bolded part made laugh pretty hard.

I agree we might be headed in the right direction on the field. But if Ross goes with a logo that the majority of the fans seem to dislike, that's a bit f'ed up IMO.
Now maybe I will have to retract my statement. Maybe this leak is pure speculation and nothing like the real logo. Or maybe maybe it was leaked so Ross could gauge the reaction and now he's gone back to tweak it.
    We'll see, I guess.

Whenever those retro looking uniforms are posted on any dolphin forum they draw rave reviews from fans. I'd be curious to know if the front office has seen them. I'd also love to see what a version of the leaked log would look like with those uniforms, if any of our resident photoshop experts would like to take a crack at it. I think you would have to change loose the navy in the logo to make it work.

    I like it either way.
The only problem with putting a big 'M' in the logo is that the team would have to change the logo again in a couple of years when it moves to L.A. :shifty:

I like those a lot, except the all-grey look and the grey pants. Change it to all-aqua and aqua on white.

I like those a lot. What's nice about the grey's is one would assume that would be considered an "away" jersey. Since the Dolphins wear their road jersey's at home most of the time to gain a competitive advantage, they would then be able to wear those 3rds at home and still force the away team to wear a dark jersey. That way we'd see the 3rd jersey's more than once every couple of years like we do now.

I dont think you can have an alternate helmet unless its sort of a special occasion.

Teams seem to be able to wear different pants though. The Bucs and 49ers used to wear gold/pewter away and white pants at home. Other teams off the top of my head: Jets, Buffalo, Titans, Seahawks, Rams, Saints, Falcons, Jags, Bears

Sure, the whole Harbaugh fiasco was bad but it was 2 years ago and Ross made a rookie mistake.

All the other stuff (Gator Day, Dez Bryant) were things that were overblown IMO.

It just seems to me like the people who think the organization is stupid or whatever word they want to use, are the same people who have extreme hate for Jeff Ireland.

How come no one talks about all the good Ross does? How about doing Hard Knocks so the fans have an inside scoop to the team and training camp? What about the thousands of tickets Ross buys every home game so the local fans can still watch their team on Sundays? Or how about the constant charity work the team, players and cheerleaders do for the community? Ross recently donated $500,000 to the relief from Hurricane Sandy. No one talks about all the great deals they offer on tickets so people can go to the game without spending a fortune.

No one ever talks about that stuff though. I'm just wondering why.

because some think his ears are to big, and they don't like it when he talks.

For myself, I don't think he's hurt us, I think he means well, and will spend money, I worry about his long term vision, he doesn't seem to understand the stadium situation..considering he purchased the stadium, and is thinking about putting a quarter billion into it.

Despite what many people here probably think, I don't hate Jeff Ireland. I don't think he is a very good GM, but it's clear he is here for another season so I will support him and home he uses the abundance of resources he has this offseason properly.

As far as all the good you say Ros does, most are debatable.
-As fans we loved Hard Knocks, but most inside the NFL loathe being on Hard Knocks and most owners wouldn't put their team through it.
-The charity work the team does is great. It really and truly is. But it's hardly special. Every team in the league does it. Don't try and make it sound like it's something only Stephen Ross and the Miami Dolphins do.
-The Hurricane Sandy donation is simply awesome. No question about it.
-And as far as buying up wads of tickets so game can be on locally? I could make the argument that if the team didn't suck and and if fan apathy wasn't at an all time low because of it, the stadium wouldn't be half empty all the time.

Is stupid a strong word? Probably.
But if they go with a logo a good majority of the fans don't like, and you put that on top of all the other things that have happened under Ross' watch, what word would you use to describe this franchise in it's current state?

Just not under the cloak and dagger he did.
If you want a new coach, fine. Have the courtesy to fire your current coach before flying across the country conducting interviews.
Nothing good can come from doing it the way he did.
He looked bad, Ireland looked bad, the entire organization looked bad.

he inherited Parcells, who bailed on him, Parcells hired the coach who's team wasn't good, he's the best prospect ever, why such an allegiance to Sparano, you gotta find out if the best has interest in your franchise, it's human nature.
