IMO, if Marshall comes back healthy, Smith resigns, and Patterson stays as the nickel, even with Clemons at safety, our secondary would be much better than it was this season.
Good luck with that. You can cuss out someone without many knowing, or at least until the word is mainstream for a few years.
If he did that with this bunch of retreads, no names, questionmarks, and castoffs from Gilligan's Island in the secondary....... He needs to be nominated for coach of the year, given a pay raise, and a kiss on the forehead by the prettiest cheer leader on the squad... Then he out to be sought out for a real good estimation of who would fit in with his scheme from both Free Agents and the Draft - maybe even the first round pick. Egad.... What could he do with real talent? Holy Jumpin' Catfish!
Just of the top of my head, it would appear that there would be a rather large number of people who would be classified in a similar fashion. About an Olympic sized swimming pool full, all tolled, over the past decade or so.
I actually love the depth. We went in with Carroll and Wilson as our 3rd/4th corners, ands thats after trading vontae. Smith, Jones, Wilson, Clemons... They're pretty talented. Losing Marshall sucked, and Carroll missed time. Ireland gets a lot of the blame for injuries forcing him to hit the waver wire IMO. Not sure why some think Marshall is suddenly discardable either. I remember when reshad jones supposedly was last year.
Why are we replacing Coyle again? Williams is overrated. If you want Williams just hire a trained monkey and run max blitz every down.
