Miami Dolphins New logo/uniforms Thread

I took that logo and pulled it into photoshop to do a color experiment with it. I changed all the navy to a color somewhat close to our 80's aqua(my color picker plugin hasn't been updated to work with the latest firefox, so I had to eyeball it). I changed the aqua portion of it to a dolphin grey. I have to say, the design is great and with the removal of the navy and the color changes, I thought it looked great, even in a very rough an not cleaned up form!

EDIT: I also changed the coral underbelly to the aqua that I used to replace the navy with.

 

Could somebody combine this logo:



With this positioning?



Possibly add an aqua stripe above the orange one as well?

I think that'd win my vote. A silver helmet might seal my eternal approval.

EDIT: Or just teach me how to photoshop.

 

I imagine every old logo would win the fan vote as a significant majority will always be resistant to change. I would guess that there was resistance to changing those godawful throwback Pittsburg uniforms they wore this year.

 

They did. Here's my read of Dee's comments- From the original story, it appears that the logo is not the actual logo, but a prototype that's very close to it. Therefore, what the Dolphins unveil in a few months could technically be considered "alternate" if it's been noticeably modified to its final form. They could also very well have an alternate logo ready to go which has been approved by the NFL, although I don't know how much different it would be or whether they'd risk fans disliking the alternate even more.

Quite frankly, I don't truly think they're all that worried at the moment. Supposedly they've unveiled the logo to former players who have raved about it, and I'm sure they've gotten a few other opinions as well. My guess is that their research on this type of thing probably indicates that fans of a team with a fairly iconic logo will be resistant to the change to begin with, and of those that aren't, some will like it, some will not and many will probably grow to like it over time. In the end, the number of people who will purchase items and jerseys will most likely greatly outnumber those who won't, even if they don't love the logo.

I cannot imagine it was a landslide vote to keep those uniforms. Either way, I am one who does not want it changed but yet there is one I could live with. So I don't think it's everyone just being stubborn to change anymore than it is that they actually like the one we have or the old one.

If this was a marketing ploy, then they should have waited to "leak" it closer to draft day. Right now would get the most hype about the new logo,

If they submitted more than one to the NFL and more than one were approved, it might be a good idea to leak one at a time to help them figure out which one they use as the main logo, alternate or none at all...

I for one wanted a Logo change for a while, its nothing against the current logo, i loved it and grew up with that logo, but i feel with a new era it was time for a change. Start fresh! Plus i really really hate the drop shadow in the jerseys

Change simply for change sake is about the worst argument possible.

You don't go away from something that is great just to shake it up or because you think it will "create" a new era.
Silly to be silly.

As for the "wimpy" comment to negate the supposed proposed logo change.... I think he chose words poorly.
Plain and boring would be the words I would use.
It's too simplistic and boring.

 

"Everyone" is not just being stubborn, but reality is that most people resist change so the fact that almost any old logo would win a popular vote is hardly proof that an old logo is good or better than a new one being proposed. I would say that there are enough similar elements between both the old and new logo that a landslide vote for the old is more representative of resistance to change than anything else.

 

Change is made because people want change all the time. don't believe me ask cashiers.

 

I think your right Rock, if you think about it, this front office is in no position to not listen to the fans that actually care..I would do the same if in their position, your trying to build a new type of culture, so you better listen to your core voice on something that affects them as much as anyone..

I'm pretty sure were going to see another one soon, and it will gauge our reaction, it's why I said earlier speak your mind, cause they or someone hired by them is reading..

Look at the new layouts for social media... Facebook, Twitter, etc. When they're new; people ALWAYS hate it... after time, they get use to it and actually don't mind it. The majority of people dislike change, period.

 

We need to wear Aqua more, can anyone guess how many times we wore Aqua this season?

Twice, 1st game of the season against the Texans, and the 2nd was the first match up vs Bills in Buffalo. Both times we had to wear Aqua because the home team wanted to wear white. If not we would have went the whole season wearing white.

the only time we wear Aqua is if another team wants to wear white and they are home, or if we get prime time games at home. No wonder we dont have Orange jersey anymore, we barely wear our regular one

 

I can't buy that. Especially when the change can be seen and compared. We change every single day. "Some" people might resist it but most of the people have seen, compared and simply like the old one better.

 

Dislike change from things that work to things that don't. Facebook should have left things alone three updates back.

 

Three changes later, people still use the site.

 

Our home jerseys are white while most others' home jerseys are colored. They do this because of the Florida heat, it's no mystery.

 

But that's not even proof though. Everyone still hates the last three updates. So much so that many people have went to Instagram.

 

Facebook owns Instagram.

 

There's definitely an undercurrent of not liking change here, but the proposed logo is genuinely unappealing. The details are nice, but the basic design is not. It feels like something that was designed by an apathetic committee with a checklist.

That said, I think this logo was intentionally leaked to gauge reaction.

 

That's had absolutely nothing to do with it.

 

Re: Update on new logo

I just find it ironic. Besides most people I know who use Instagram have it connected to Twitter or Facebook... I don't know many people who have been driven from Facebook to Instagram or Twitter either. They may add to the list but not drop one for the other.

The only thing I like from the "prototype" is the sun design. So I quickly photoshoped this:
