Hmm...seems as if Polian is describing Ireland. Grew up around the game with his Dad and the huge advantage it creates. Just saying.

If that was the case what would the reason be to keep him around? It makes no sense. If your not going to let him do anything then just fire him and get on with it. Oh wait i forgot we are talking about Steven Ross....my bad.

I'm not saying it's the best way to go about things. You'd prefer the kind of decisiveness you're talking about. But Steve Ross has already shown that level of indecisiveness so it's not out of character. I'm saying it's plausible, not likely.

The only thing I'm saying in this thread is that (as usual) Mike Florio is getting a bum rap for simply reporting what various NFL insiders are expressing to him, accusing him of 'making it up' when in actuality it's highly plausible for those insiders to think exactly what he says they're telling him.

Because that would be an intensely stupid idea. A neutron star of stupid. You're going to give Ireland what would be another year to prove himself, yet not allow him to make any moves that would substantially change anything during that time frame, and instead have him work directly against his own survival?

Yet Ireland traded for Bush and gave up a draft pick instead of signing free agent Darren Sproles who wouldn't have cost a draft pick and would have signed for less money, for about the same production.

Another smart move by genius Ireland.

Happens all the time in business.

    Football is a business.

It's not the same production and they're not even close to the same player.

I'm not sure what you're talking about, but what you're basically peddling is fantasy. Jeff Ireland is quite unlikely to be fired, and it should be pretty obvious even to people who hate him.

I agree, he will regrettably be here next year.

But in my 35+ years working in the business world, and 25 of that in upper management I have seen more than once my superiors and my colleagues have to train their replacements and over see their own demise.

Ever hear of the teleplay & movie written by Rod Serling called "Patterns"
