How does that show that he wasn't behind it or in favor of it. He said he didn't regret it.

Never said it did you're the 1 and many others are the ones they're saying pphilbin was behind I just showed a counter post as did others that there's just as much evidence that he wasnt the 1 that initiated the trade

Now why don't you prove other than a reporter said so that phibin was behind the trade

Dan Pompei, a respected reporter in Chicago, also reported that Philbin wanted to part ways with Marshall:

Ok, it is the same thing. If he's definitely not a franchise QB, he's questionable or the jury is still out. So, I'll ask again, in what world do you live in where 10 TDs in 15 games proves to you or should prove to anyone else beyond any shadow of a doubt that Ryan Tannehill is absolutely a franchise QB?

I agree he's flashed some great potential in his rookie year. But the overall production and TD/INT ratio is nowhere near where it needs to be for a QB to be consistently successful in this league.

But it isn't a counter-post saying Philbin wasn't behind it because it doesn't say that. I have shown 3 different reports from 3 different newspapers, a quote from Philbin himself saying what "we" thought, and the fact that Ross said the Dolphins were shopping Marshall for 2 months, which coincides with when Philbin was hired. And the trade was done on the very first day offseason trades could be made. You have shown nothing to indicate anything to the contrary. Moroever, the notion that a GM would hire a new offensive guru to be the HC and then two months later turn around and trade the team's most talented and high profile offensive skill position player without the full support of that new HC is just ridiculous. And if something that ridiculous did happen, the complete absence of any reports that Philbin was even a tiny little bit miffed about it is virtually unfathomable in the current media/social media environment.

When u have time, check out the all 22 film from this season and tell me what u think. I do it every week and I am convinced that he has the talent and mental makeup to be a top 10 caliber QB.

    I ask again,
WADR, can you provide a baseline for comparison to show us why you think this is a sub mediocre draft class? If this isn't even mediocre, then what is an "average" NFL draft class in your opinion?

First of all, mediocre and average aren't that different to me. A baseline to call Ireland's draft mediocre? I could use the obvious answer and go Colts, but since the first pick was a slam dunk, that's not fair.

How about Seattle's draft? Russell Wilson who himself is having a phenomenal rookie campaign, but they also drafted Bobby Wagner who deservers consideration for defensive rookie of the year. I haven't followed every draft pick, but off the top of my head there's one.

Having the talent and mental makeup to be a top 10 caliber QB is not the same as definitely being a franchise QB. Many, including professional evaluators said the same thing about Chad Henne after 2009.

Chad Henne was handed the job against the wishes of his own teammates and coaches. He never demonstrated the alpha male leadership qualities that u want in a QB. And this is coming from a guy who defended him to the end.

Tannehill has earned the respect of his team and won the job when most people, me included, thought he needed at least a year. He is superior to Henne in every way besides pure arm strength.

But yeah, he's not a sure thing. He's just better than anyone we've had since what's his name from Pitt.

In what world is a QB completing 54% of his pass to go along with 18 picks considered a franchise qb?

We don't really disagree, except for maybe 2008 Pennington. But given his age at the time, yes Tannehill is still the better option.

Most NFL minds would say a good 2nd round starting RT who can play LT (when your current one is set for FA) is more valuable than a 2nd round starting LB. I'm not sure why you seem to underplay and undervalue the protection of the QB when the NFL clearly doesn't.... and I can tell you place more value in WR & TE than any other position on the field outside of QB, which the NFL also wouldn't agree.

2 of their picks, including a 5th round LB are no longer with the team.
Their 4th round RB, Turbin, has less upside than our 4th round back.
Our 7th round DT is outperforming their 4th round DT.
We both look to have gotten franchise QBs, and you can't with any accuracy say Wilson has a greater future than Tannehill.
.... and it's a extremely early to say Bruce Irvin has more value than Vernon, Matthews, and Egnew combined.

Besides, what does it matter about Wagner when we already have Dansby rostered?

I can't remember what thread it was, but weren't you just arguing with me the other day about Tannehill being as good as Luck?
It's an honest question because I don't remember exactly what we were talking about, but it was about Tanny and Luck.

Kind of. I was talking more about perceptions. Like the perception that Luck is all world already and Tannehill is questionable. And how those people that are saying that are also saying Ireland sucks so we have no talent around Tannehill and that Luck has a lot of talent surrounding him. I don't know what the end results will be when the book is closed on their careers, but Luck is not night and day better than Tanny right now.

Nipplehead, is saying I say on a daily basis that Tannehill is better than Luck.

As far as drafting? I think the team is full of young talent and will be good for a long time.

But signing Matt Flynn to that huge contract is undoubtedly a black eye.

Well, I like Tannehill AND think Ireland sucks, whatever that means.
While I think Luck is better than Tannehill, I do agree that Luck is over-hyped and the perception of how much better Luck is, is probably wrong.

Last year they drafted a lineman in the first round who was on many draft boards a 3rd round pick and this year they drafted a guy in the first round to be a third down specialist.

Ireland would be called all kinds of names if he did that
