Says in the article that Clay will need 3 months to recover, so I would say his ACL is fine right now
He was in the end zone with Fasono on the TD , so he has at least sniffed the end zone , unlike Egnew , to date.
Ha, that'd be a hoot if it was Kyle Miller. One of my buddies played against him in college. Hopefully Egnew at least gets a shot. Couldn't hurt.
Sad for the injury, but Clay has disapointed me. I really want to take Keller from the Jets this offseason.
Clay took a shot square on the front of the knees from the DB's shoulder pads. As soon as the collision happened, you'd think oh man that is the kind of play that injures knees.
I hope he recovers 100%. That said, this guy has zero consistency. Nice flashes here and there, but he's got as many drops as he does flashes of talent.
Similar to one I remember Keith Byars taking, and somewhat similar to the one by Bart Scott on Bess in the final game last season.
If Kyle Miller is activated while Egnew remains planted to the inactive list then I am completely comfortable hanging the "bust" label on him.
And it will essentially be a coach-manufactured issue. The player himself hasn't had the opportunity to play his way into bust status but if they do go with a UDFA over him then the coaches will be declaring him a bust before even giving him a chance. By the way in his most recent comments Mike Sherman implied that his hands are tied with respect to Egnew by Jeff Ireland and Joe Philbin. He can't use Egnew in a game until they say so.
