I figured he had to be decent when he was recruiting the last few years at a school like UK. Just read he does have some solid ties to the SE as well. Which is good news. According to an article in Gatorsports.com this am, all our current wr commits are excited to work with him. Exciting stuff...
He had coached at Kentucky as either a WR coach, Offensive Coordinator, and Head Coach for quite some time. I am excited to have him at Florida.
From reading articles (from random places) it seems that is the consensus. So color me excited. Heck, I already was excited about the direction of this team. Side note: nice for our baskeball team to go up to Tally and wipe the floor with the Seminoles! This year we have OWNED them in all the major sports!
I saw that game .It was over in 15 minutes after 22 Nole turnovers.Unbeaten so far and looking good for the sweet 16 .
That game was terrible. I mean the Gators played good defense, but it was a sloppy game. Gators basketball team going to get a real test when they travel out west to play Arizona. Speaking of Sweet 16 tha Lady Gators Volleyball team is in the Sweet 16 and they play Texas tomorrow. Going to be a tough match up.
[h=2]Four Gators named to All-SEC Freshman team[/h]Offensive tackle D.J. Humphries, linebacker Antonio Morrison, defensive end Jonathan Bullard and Buck end/linebacker Dante Fowler Jr. make the cut. READ MORE
Those freshmen are great! Morrison is going to be a star. He is a head hunter. Humphries probably going to start at LT next year. Fowler and Bullard look like are going to be really good too!! Plus we get Ronald Powell back next year who would have been our best pass rusher this year!
In good news we got three commits today. Roderick Johnson - OL http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/_/id/152251/roderick-johnson Trenton Brown - Juco OT http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/_/id/151007/trenton-brown Matt Rolin - OLB He will redshirt his first year due to a torn ACL http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/_/id/148004/matt-rolin http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=8467687
Never can have too many of those big uglies as this year proved .Rolin is a man among boys in that video .He is a true two way player and is probably transition to a TE or even a WR if needed but he is monster at LB . Hopefully we add a top WR to this class .
Rolin is OLB and will not be moved to offense. He is a absolute Beast. I can't wait to see him in a couple of years. Our Oline depth will be much better next year!! We are not getting another WR commit. We already have 4 WR commits. They all do different things and are ranked kind of spread out. We have 3 four star guys and 1 three star. We only have at most a couple spots open. Gators are almost done recruiting. We currently stand at 25 guys recruits so far
We had a LB decommit becuase Rolin committed. I am not worried about that. Neither one were/are going to play next year anyway. I don't see any other current recruit decommitting but you never know. Most of the guys that are committed aren't really going anywhere else tho. I wouldnt be worried
2014 CB Duke Dawson is going to make his college choice on Jan 8. He is choosing between Florida and Florida State. He has been to Florida 6 times and to FSU 1 time (the one time was for FSU-UF game). I like our chances ;-)
I literally just said we weren't getting anymore WR commits and then boom we get Demarcus Robinson a highly rated 4 star WR who was committed to Clemson.
I was expecting another high profile WR commit and it looks that we have one . http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=GGSsCPkjsrY
Robinson is as high profile as Bailey and Fulwood. Maybe even Hawkins. They are all pretty close together. They all do a lot of things different
I don't know, but it was in this thread I swear. I think the post was deleted, I promise I'm not crazy.
Man am I excited for the future of this team. I do have to say though, it will be interesting to see how we get all these recruits to fit! I know this new WR said he is enrolling early so he will be against last years class, but wow. This class is stocked!
I think they have a legit chance at playing for the title next year. Hopefully Driskel will play even better next year with a full year starting under his belt. I'm not too concerned with the defense, even if we lose guys. I have a feeling that what we are going to see from this regime is a defense where players can be plugged in and succeed year in and year out.
Next year we have a chance but its still going to be really tough. We are probably going to lose Floyd and Elam. We could also lose Jordan Reed and Easley. Those would be tough loses and I don't think our Dline would be nearly as good vs the run.
I think we are all very excited!!!! Robinson is going to be a Early Enrollee (EE). We currently have 9 recruits who are going to EE. Robinson is the only WR tho
I think the D will still be really good. Maybe not as good, but REALLY good. My question/concern is all on the offense. Mainly the Oline. This year we saw that the line played much better, but was only really dominant when it had all its starters. IF Reed leaves, then who is Driskel going to throw to. We really need some of our WRs to step up and take the reigns. If the oline can gel to the pt of actually having some good depth and one or two of the WRs step up... then yes, next season the sky will be the limit for this team. But those are two really big IFs ...
The SEC is a line of scrimmage league. Losing Hunter and Floyd is going to hurt very badly. Easley will go back to tackle but I really worry about the depth of the DT's on the Line. It was a real strength this year. Losing a player like Elam is also going to really hurt but I still expect our secondary to be really good next year. However you have to take into account how well Elam played. He erased a lot of mistakes and reminded me a little of Reggie Nelson. We need a safety to step up. Our Oline is really the least of my concerns. We have the transfer from Maryland, Tyler Moore, Plus some really good incoming freshman, and Juco OT who is probably going to start. I think we will be much better. WR's are a question mark. My guess is that a lot of freshmen get playing time next year. Hopefully we can find one or two play makers at the WR position to go with Dunbar.
So it turns out I was right. Gators probably won't add another WR. Demarcus Robinson Decommits and commits to Clemson
Something kind of weird there. Why decommit from Clemson, commit to us. Then flip again less than a week later. Would LOVE to have him, but if his heart is not in it... enjoy Clemson.
It happens. They will probably look for another wide receiver now .There are some good ones still available. Gators looking for fifth WR again
From what I understand his Mom and High Scool Coach didn't want him to go to Florida. I don't know why but they didn't. Florida's passing game couldn't have helped anything either,
Florida has been chasing those guys a while now. The only realistic choice out of those IMO is James Quick and he is a long long shot. Gators probably won't add another WR IMO. What the Gators really need is someone who can enroll early because they will only have a few WR's healthy for spring practice.
Never will understand why a HS coach would be that adamant about swaying a kid from one school to another. Unless he has personal motivations from it. The mom (supposedly) was just so he'd stay closer to home. Who knows, reading the article kind of sounds like he wanted to play here, but did not want to upset his coach and Mom. IF that is the case, sure hope he can live with it. I'd hate for him to go anywhere (because he was persuaded) and end up regretting the choice in a year or two. He really needs to make sure he is going where HE wants to. BIG choice for a kid. IF Clemson is the place for him. Great. Wish him luck, but he will be Gator Bait.
Great ****ing news! Will Grier a QB recruit for the 2014 class has committed to Florida! This is a huge get. He once threw for over 800 yards and 10 TD's in a single game in the state playoffs (he also had 2 rushing in that game).
Gators have 3 Juco players and they have all signed there Letter of Intent. Those players are OT Tyler Moore, Trenton Brown, and Darious Cummings
The numbers this kid put up are SICK. Plus, he did all that as a Junior in HS. Wonder what his Senior year will be like?!
