Jersey discussion should have nothing to do with playing better discussion. Bringing that in is pointless and doesn't make much sense

At it's core, football is about as sophisticated as a bulldozer in a valet parking line. That is a NFL Dolphins Football jersey.... Clean up the letters, numbers, and keep the colors on the sleeve, and put that thing on the field. Some of this other stuff looks like the latest pop style d'jour applied to a wannabe stylin' forget the past club dancer - sort of like the orange carpet garbage that was substituted for putting a good team together - Trendy here today gone tomorrow bovine scatology. Bring back the right color. Bring back the Jerseys worn by winners. Bring back the noise which intimidated foes. Bring back good old hard nosed slobber knocking blocking, tackling, running, and passing football. Control the lines of scrimmage on both sides of the ball, and wipe the field with the opposing teams backsides!

UMMMMM NO! I am in the old school camp on this one. I really dislike some of the crazy uniforms that are out today. Love the retro stuff, well except those things the Steelers wore the other day, now that was truly bad.

    Belive me, Dupree..
You may have the most intricate passing attack ever devised by a football mind - as far as the timing and the routes are concerned.

But if the sweaty, mud and blood covered hogs up front aren't doing their very basic job of blocking effectively...

    It will crash and burn.

It still comes down to blocking and tackling. And if the Dolphins were doing a better job of those two basic things - we would be better than 5-7.

Arbitrarily declaring the Dolphins throwback isn't sophisticated enough is pointless and senseless too. That didn't stop you though.

No it isn't. It is niether pointless or senseless.

Well might be senseless, however that is a matter of opinion. However pointless it is not. It is completely on point.

Those striped jerseys were throwbacks from the 1930s. The current Steelers uniforms ain't much different, if any, than the Steel Curtain era uniforms. I guess if Dupree was a Steelers fan, he'd be lamenting that their uniforms aren't sophisticated enough.

The 70s throwbacks are more than sophisticated enough to suit me. I realize you young whippersnappers often want to have something flashy and glitzy to help maintain your interest. Style over substance I suppose. I'll take substance any day personally.

I don't like the navy in the ring of fire with the logo.. .it's not balanced/uniform all the way around the ring. It looks odd. The Unis are virtually the same but don't like the design of the #'s. Looks childish.

Personally I like the logo in this thread (OP) better than our current logo or the throwback logo. I hate the helmet on the dolphin and always have. I loved the colors, but the logo was something I had to just grin and bear for the last +30 years. I'm not crazy about the uniform. That part needs some work and I've certainly seen many other proposals that I liked better.

Well, in style, yes. In substance... not hardly... though I might try. This is Football Country around here, and the men might get the analogies anyway. In sermons, though, mostly I teach.

Wow :pity: Lets be realisitc here.... its just as Dupree said in relation to this topic. Has nothing to do with how the team performs. They changed the original uni's for a reason, because they were hardly timeless like the other teams you've mentioned. The originals are no better than how Denver, New England, Tampa Bay were before they changed. I actually like the old school look... especially the one we wore that thanksgiving. But change is good and you've got to keep up with the times.

Every time there's a thread where fans discuss how the uni will change, theres always a brigade seasoned fans that just have to declare all their suggestions as worthless, senseless, crapola. Come april... you'll all just have to get on board & deal with it ! So enjoy hatin on us while you can.

"Spaceman look"..... you can't possibly be as old as you sound. Anything more than three parallel stripes on a solid color and people might have seizures or something..... woah !

Laugh all you want sonny. You'll probably get your futuristic space age look when they make their change. Then you can fap over them and laugh some more :pity:
IMO, the Dolphins throwbacks, the mid 70s look, are timeless. The best uniforms ever. Since you mentioned New England, IMO, their throwbacks are the 2nd best uniforms ever.
Change is fine when necessary, but change for the sake of change is worthless. IMO, it is largely marketing hype to get fans to buy more team apparel off nflshop.com

Anyone arguing that the original logo was good, has serious problems. It was horribly, horribly done.

The dolphin is messy. It looked it had been reproduced a 100 times on a ditto machine till the only thing you could make out was the outline. It was ridiculously unprofessional and an embarrassment.

The ONLY reason anyone likes it is because of nostalgia. If i tried to make a logo that looked that unprofessional, i'd be fired.

Just by changing the colors, the old logo looks like a turd with corn in it:

I like the original logo, but your absolutely right. It's good for what it is, a throwback logo. But people are entitled to their opinions and I can't blame them for wanting a logo that worked for them and what they see as their quintessential logo. Me personally would rather relate that logo to those 70 teams and the amazing years of Dan Marino.

The logo changed slightly from the original around 1974. That is the one I like best, though would take either one. So, you think that means I have serious problems? Then you can respectfully kiss my ***.

    Yeah, it does mean that.

The quality and care put into that logo is worse than a crayon drawing from a 2 yr old. There was no effort put into that at all. It is a prime example of poor craftsmanship.
