IS anyone watchy the steelers - Ravens game ?

I better not ever hear one complaint about our orange jerseys again the steelers jerseys look like prison uniforms only worse. jeepers when were these things made ? Please dont ever tell me that Miami would wear aqua andwhite striped jerseys and horizonial stripes at that.

I have never seen a nfl team with crap like the steelers are wearing . Please promise me that Miami will never wear anything so ugly hell i cant find the word for how ugly their unis are . I will never i mean never complain about our orange unis or aqua ones or even the white ones after seeing what i am seeing tonight.

Please promise me that Miami will never wear horizonialy striped jerseys .

This is not the first time that they are wearing them, and they are historical. We don't have anything like that, because we're only 60 years old.

These duds aren't fashionable today, either.

I think those uniforms were throwbacks from about 1934. Back then there were no numbers so that part is different.

They already wore them once earlier in the season. I'll take those Steeler Jerseys over the Dolphins Orange every day of the week.

What makes them cool is they are early NFL. If you ever watched NFL Films back in the 70's - when they showed a lot of footage from the 30's in B&W you'd have recognized them. They just needed to be wearing the brown leather helmets with them to make them complete.

What makes the Dolphins orange uncool is they are a) uncool; and b) have no history/tradition behind them.

definitely ugly... although back when they had black and white televisions, they probably stood out from the opposition.

Can't compare them to the orange jerseys though... I like the orange. sue me.

    Speak for yourself, Rook..
These were not just ugly.... though..
They go well beyond that.... but I cannot use the Navy term for that in public.

Well, I have to disagree with your first statement... The orange jerseys are only a slight less ghastly version of hideous to me when compared to the Steelers old jerseys.

I guess RevRick we will just have to diagree because i feel energized as a fan when miami wears the orange jerseys but I will admitt that I dont like the aall orange at all but i hate the all whites even more and the reasons are we dont have anyone as good as the players like Marv Fleming, Kiick , and Mercury .

second reason i dont like the all white is that it makes our players look so much slower, so this is just my opinion. the Orange jerseys remind me of early 2000's when we had exciting players . Alais my college team wears the orange crush so it makes me sentimental in a way some of you may not understand .

on a futher note : was it the eagles that had the really ugly unis a couple of season ago that wear violet and lime Green.

one last thought did Miami have a lighte shade of aqua back in the 70's or 80's ? I seem to recall a lighter aqau jersey and i thought those were cool.

what would you guys think of a aqua and white srip jersey to start a new tradtion if we were to start a big winning streak ?

Miami has never worn all orange, as in pants and jerseys both. Never had orange pants with any color jersey

Mr Clean i have respectfully disagree remember the Redskins game when Steve Spuriour ( Spelling ) was the head coach we wore all orange that night and we won .

but you are right about wearing orange pants with any other color but we did wear all orange . so i dont see anything wrong with wearing orange pants and white because the oposite looks equally cool but that is just my taste besides when the team plays in the snow you cant see the dolphins when they wear all white so the aqua or orange would be easier for the qb to see his wrs . or i would think the orange would be perfect in those situation. I will respect your opinion mr Clean .

Well, no I do not recall Miami ever wearing all orange, pants and jerseys. If you can find one more person here who remembers it, then I'll believe it.
I looked up the game you refer to. Nov 23, 2003. The first time the team wore orange jerseys. From what I read though, they wore white pants, just like every time since that they have worn the orange jerseys. With all due respect, I think the idea they wore orange pants that night, with the orange jerseys, is a figment of your imagination.

The Merrimac was the Confederate's ship. The Union had one called the Monitor.

I'm sorry but we do have history and tradition, and our tradition is white on white uniforms. There is a VERY proud history with that uniform and until 10 years ago it stood for good football, winning football, Super Bowl wins and one of the PREMIERE franchises in the NFL.

Don't let the last 10 years cloud your memories of what Miami Dolphin football once stood for !

EDIT : I see you were talking about the orange tops.....never mind ;)

I think you have the Hurricanes and Dolphins mixed up. The Canes have on occasion won all orange, but the Dolphins never. Their pants have either always been white or aqua, and when they wore the aqua pants they always wore a white shirt.

I'm sure that there was some Steeler's fan who argued that they should keep those old uniforms before they changed them. Probably saying that they were good enough that we all became fans when they had them and/or that the new ones could be worse.

Quite correct, sir. The USS Merrimack was a steam frigate in Norfolk Shipyard which was burned to the waterline when the Rebels captured Norfolk. She was rebuilt as the CSS Virginia before she engaged USS Monitor in Hampton Roads.

This is what she looked like underway before being in Norfolk Yards for refit!

Not hardly.. You didn't insult me.. You didn't say I was a Signalman striker with Noah on the Ark.. which some have implied on other sites..
You were polite. You only made me about 235 years old instead of 63. That's not as bad as some of my students in high school would have proponed.
They were asking if I lived next door to Fred Flintstone.

All in all, you were actually rather polite. Thank you.

yea guys you are right but i cant figure out where i got that thought because i could have sworn that they wore the all organge but going back and reviewing those uniforms it was the orange jerseys and white pants Of Course i wouldnt mind if we used the orange pants and white jerseys . the all aqua would be pretty cool but i am not as high on the navy blue so I would offer a compromise and ask what about a aqua and white bi color jersey . nobody has brought up that posiblity just look at teams that have bi color . The Rams, the cowboys, the Broncos, the titians and almost half the league has a bicolor . I would not opose to the all white if Miami would try new things or wear more variety to shake this so called curse that we have of not being revelant in a long time, hell just look at Seattle they have the mojo and it works.

The only way to shake this so called curse, is improve the talent level. Changing uniforms does not magically make a team begin to play better. Curses basically only exist between your ears anyway.

Correct, however, the closest thing to a curse is our stadium imo..we don't play we'll there, and others do, when you have no home field advantage it affects ball games...the Seahawks are 1 and 4 on the road, and undefeated at home, ravens 23 and 1, 14 strait at home, both teams have the two best stadiums for intimacy and noise in the league..lol...anyone trying to convince me that it doesn't affect the game is clueless, and anyone saying that disadvantage doesn't exist in our park, the same.

Our uniform change will change nothing.
