C'mon. We're talking over the course of season, not one game. You're not gonna CONSISTENTLY win without good QB play. You're gonna tell me Matt Ryan wasn't in the MVP discussion before Sunday?

I think Matt Ryan is a franchise QB, no question. I'd take him here in a heartbeat and not think twice about it.

Stafford's getting crushed behind that O-Line. I still think he'll have a great career there. I've always thought he was gonna be great, even coming out of Georgia. Point is, those guys have had great seasons in the past and have proven they can win you games.

Sure he is, but all that means little if they get destroyed in the 1st round of the playoffs again, doesn't it?

Other teams are worried about how their QB performs in the playoffs, and here we are...

    Tell that to Chad Pennington.

Not sure how he applies here. Chad Pennington had a great year on a team that had mediocre talent and a joke of a schedule.

I'm saying nobody cares if Matt Ryan is great during the regular season if he falls on his face again in round 1.

I'm with the guy who wrote the SBNation article. I'm not sure I really want to know what's going on in Lamar Miller's brain at any given moment. Stick figures (two happy, two stern faced) playing around...in a river...with a football in the air...a random "Yay!"...clouds in the sky...and a dead guy in the river.

I mean, yeah, ultimately winning the Super Bowl is the goal every year. But what are we arguing here? Matt Ryan is a great QB on a pretty damned good team. We'd be lucky to have him here. Would you rather cry in a Ferrari or a Hyundai? That's where we're at now.

Hilarious, none of these guys even wrote their own names on the cards, which seems like the logical thing to put on your football card.

Even smart guy Andrew Luck failed that test.

I personally liked alshon Jeffrey's "Chicago Bears Super Bowl 2012" one myself.

If he can't win a playoff game then no, we wouldn't be.

Could he be a great qb? Sure. But he isn't yet. We'll know soon.

My buddy Vince bought the Egnew card for pretty cheap on Ebay. I think it was cheap because it was so purely ******ed looking.

Note Ryan Tannehill's much more deliberately-drawn Dolphin...though his color choice was curious (particularly the demon red eye)...and note his smooth, multi-lingual savvy, on the back of his card...also note how much he loves signing his own name, so much that he did it on both sides...

Quarterbacks really starting to stand out, here.

Note Brandon Weeden's impressively fair likeness of the Browns' logo...

...and Andrew Luck's 3-D sketch modeling of Lucas Oil Stadium...

...and then there's Brock Osweiler's subtle strokes and use of...is that a smiley face watermark?

...Russell Wilson's stark tones and bludgeoning detail...

...and Robert Griffin's pearls of wisdom (and treepubes)...

They all signed them on the back. Tannehill was one of the few that signed the front as well as the back. Vanity?

We're back to the "Matt Ryan isn't really all that good" argument again? Hilarious. I wonder if it will continue after he wins MVP.

Ahh, that makes sense then. Maybe not as dumb as I expected.

But still, not one guy tried to draw himself doing something on the football field? Also hilarious.

While he's playing out of his mind this season, the MVP award belongs to Peyton Manning (as long as the Broncos make the playoffs) as well as comeback player of the year.

Sounds to me like we need to do a comparison between the talent on this team and the talent on the teams with rookie QB ratings similar to Tannehill's, so as to figure out just how much to pin on Tannehill versus the rest of the team.

Who did he lose to in his playoff games? perhaps that had some influence in the losses.

Well no one "needs" to do anything, but I find it funny that some if the Manning doubters, who were such experts, were also Ireland defenders who had no problem participating in one of the many "Ureland has been proven great, eat crow" threads that popped up at 4-3. Which by the way look ridiculous now. Those same guys are completely silent on Manning though they have been proven embarrassingly wrong thus far

Shouright your outlook is refreshing, to say the least. You obviously see the big picture and the understand the process. The majority seems to over-react on a weekly basis. You also generate your opinions off of what you see, apposed to an onslaught of stats and silly money-ball formulas some more "accomplished" posters grasp to, and feed off of. All this accompanied with your out-spoken nature should make you the new face of the Miami Dolphins fan-base moving forward.

EDIT: damn just realized it was your sig i've been quoting for ages now. My motto.

You defended him 3 weeks ago, but now you can't ? What did he change in that span ? Could this possibly have something to do with a 3 game losing streak after a 3 game winning streak ? NAawwwwwww.

I find it funny how often you love to say the words doubters, haters, lovers, and apologists. It's in every one of your posts. That's not really needed.

Manning will most likely win MVP and will win Comeback Player of the Year Award. I don't take back what I said about him during the off season, and I don't think any other poster will either. We didn't have the cap space to sign him to begin with, so the odds of him coming here were low. And his injury was such a big risk many of us weren't comfortable sacrificing so much to bring him in. I'm still stunned he's playing at this level.

I don't think it's really that necessary because the one major disconnect that I have with a lot of people that argue in favor of Jeff Ireland is that yes I do believe the General Manager should be graded in large part by the overall success or failure of his teams (win-loss). I don't think that is in any way ridiculous. The Dolphins are on their fourth straight losing season after one winning season. As one of the two men in the organization with the greatest organizational control, I think Jeff Ireland should be held responsible for that.

I was down on Peyton Manning. He's done far better health wise than I imagined, after a rocky start. However, I am interested in seeing how long it lasts. If it doesn't last beyond this year I don't think I will have been proven entirely wrong. I'm just being honest.
