Forecasters are getting very serious about an almost doomsday scenario on Saturday / Sunday with regards to Tropical Storm (possibly soon Hurricane) Sandy. It's forecast to move out of the Caribbean starting tomorrow and be in the Bahamas on Wednesday / Thursday and then possibly merge with a trough coming down from Canada producing a possible "Perfect Storm" scenario very close on on the New England shores on Saturday / Sunday. Might the game be moved ? What if the electric is out ? All kinds of crap could happen..... http://www.climatecentral.org/blogs/tropical-storm-could-threaten-east-coast-in-an-unusual-way-15145
Although well off-shore, this track has Sandy moving from a latitude around the Keys on Friday to around Melbourne/Cocoa Beach on Saturday. How on earth is it going to be in NJ by Sunday? http://www.wunderground.com/tropical/tracking/at201218_5day.html
Well according to the latest GFS model run it's showing a possible more western track and a possible merging with the trough coming down from Canada. The new model runs will come out just before 11pm and will have the latest hurricane hunter info calculated into them. It will be interesting to see how this develops. They are forecasting for South Fla windy and some rain gusty winds sustained 20 mph and gusts to 40 on Thursday. We will be in a tight gradient and that should ramp up the winds for us.
Did you guys look at the article ? It shows a storm with a barometric pressure less than 925 near Long Island
Did you look at the article, it says there will be a storm with a possible 925 barometric measure less than 100 miles from the stadium.......
You sure it'll leave more of a mark than hurricane Rick? Boy, that one just refused to give it up, turn around and desert it. That thing literally moved heaven and earth to be there forever.
I'd welcome a storm on Sunday... we know Sanchez can't throw in the rain... and Tebow can't throw at all. Have no fear... just hold on to Rex Ryan and you'll be well grounded.
I'm not sure, but I think Tony S is now fatter than Rex? maybe now that he's back in Jersey with real pizza.
I'll say it again, the weather for Northern NJ Sunday is partly cloudy and 65 degrees. Rain moving in on Monday.
I should be more worried about the storm than someone in NJ. Just sayin' as if it goes out to sea a bit - a NE direction, it will come closer to me than most people. Storm or no storm, if I'm breathing, I'm watching.
Not really seeing what the concern is for the game. Even if the GFS verifies, its still for next Wednesday morning with it being that close to the east coast. Maybe a little bit of wind just starting to arrive from it, IF it takes that track on Sunday. Unless it really changes though, and reallllly speeds up, dont see what the issue would be.
You have to ask that when the guy in your avatar is doing the twist!.... That's almost as good as the allusion to Barely Manenough!
I'd say if you are crossing the GW and you don't smell urine or alcohol, then be afraid, be very afraid...FML New York stinks literally. I lived in Yonkers as a child and I've never been to anywhere outside of a paper manufacturer that smells as bad as New York does. It doesn't even need borders, you know you're there when it stinks like artificial ****.
Well it is heading this way, but not until late Monday/Tuesday is when its supposed to hit. I hope the power doesn't go out, I'd like to hear the Beningo rant after the Jets lose
Yet here in Northern NJ they were not. Light rain now in the forecast and temps in 60's. If storm hits it will be late Monday
