It's not a phase exactly but in my opinion you generally tend to throw more heavy blitzes at a young QB because he is less likely to make the right line adjustments, recognize the coverage pre-snap, and choose his correct receiver. In other words a young QB has a better chance of pressing and making a mistake under pressure. It's true of every QB but especially young guys that more time in the pocket = better reads and more success.

That isn't to say you don't throw heavy blitzes at veteran QB's but in my opinion you don't "as much".

Basically I think Ryan will start to see more men in coverage more often and have slightly more complex reads. He'll probably start to see more delayed blitzes and zone blitzes rather than teams showing 7-8 rushers pre-snap.

You know, at some point the realization should hit that Ryan actually isn't that raw at all. Raw quarterbacks don't climb the pocket and move around within the pocket like Ryan does.

He didn't look like a rookie in the previous games either. That's my point and what I've been saying all along. His QBR was low, b/c he had INTs and a lower than desired comp. pct., but if you look at the actual INTs they mostly weren't the result of rookie mistakes. And his comp. pct. wasn't a factor of too much inaccuracy or bad decisions either. That's why the whole QBR focus was misplaced. This game was flashy b/c he had a ton of yards and completed some long passes.

RT is raw in terms of total experience, but his footwork and hand position, how he moves in the pocket, etc. show that he's put in the work. That was obvious from his college tape. It was one of the reasons I loved him as a prospect. This was a guy who has obviously been working at the position and was getting better so he was working smart too. He clearly had all the measureables. When you combine measureables and a smart work ethic then I think the odds of success are pretty good. He'd also had some pretty good production already. It wasn't great, but at least pretty good. IMO the difference between the pretty good production and great production was his total level of experience and his supporting cast, both of which I thought could be improved on with time.

I think Tannehill deserves it for Week 4, but I doubt he'll win.
I've watched most of the rookie QBs games this year and Tannehill's passing game against the Cardinals was impressive.

To me, this is the best thing. My buddy is a die-hard Broncos fan, back since the Orange Crush. We both we back and forth during the Elway/Marino days. Then he won 2 Superbowls and of course Dan didn't. Now he gets Peyton Manning, and that's all I hear. So I am telling him about Tannehill and how good he looks and he kind of blows me off. We are both in a fantasy league, today he picked up Tannehill!!

To me, that is a sign of respect. Finally.
