I always go to this game, but this one being Christmas weekend I may have to pass up. It would be the first time in like 20 years I have not gone to this game.

Thats a shame man. I am extending out a welcome to me and my buddies tailgates (yeah, we have two of them located about two minutes apart) to any member from ThePhins that is coming up for the game. I know sometimes it sucks not to have anybody to tailgate with.

And for a picture of 124, here is my crazy *** up in New England for this years December game. I was the only Jets fan I saw, other than my friend who was with me:

I go with a bunch of Jet fans in a winabago, they always have a big bash.

    Where are you from 124?

I'm in Oakland NJ, grew up minutes from the stadium.

No ****. My parents grew up in Oakland / Franklin Lakes and went to Ramapo and Indian Hills.=. I actually grew up in Wayne and Pequannock, NJ but I'm currently up in Newton which is in Sussex County.

And which parking lot do you guys usually tailgate in? There are plenty of big winabagos, buses, vans, etc.

So you parked across the street by the Izod Center? Why? :confused2:

In the background in the one picture is that stupid f'ing Zanadu project, the dumbest thing and ugliest creation on earth. The place I'm usually around is, you know, by the actual stadium, in either Lot 5 or Private Lot 11, but you can park your car in either 5 or 13 and walk right into 11.

Yeah see I don't tailgate over there, I much prefer to tailgate by the stadium where I can just walk right in. That and there are always 5-10,000 Dolphin fans each time we play you guys since their are Fin fans all over the country, its hard to spot out a selected few.

We just followed the guides who were guiding the cars into the garage.

Is that the indoor ski slope?

Yes and it looks TERRIBLE. I'd like for someone to burn it down with the creators of it inside of it. Indoor sking? Seriously? In New Jersey? :pity:

Oh and I just realized why you didn't park by the stadium, you probably did not have a Parking Pass. You need a parking pass to park in the stadium lots since the stadium construction took up 20-25% of the lot. Parking passes are only offered to season ticket holders but people sell them online for 3x the value all the time.

That is the lone thing I like about the Dolphins organization is that they somehow, sometime between the 1972 season and Marino gained all these fans over the nation, but the fans actually stayed with the team so they weren't bandwagons, to a degree. Its pretty interesting and even though I hate to see my teams rented stadium :pity: filled by visiting fans (you should've seen the freakin' Pittsburgh game this year), it is awesome to see that certain teams have such strong fanbases. Miami's problem is their fanbase in actual Miami is nonexsistent.

Really? Thats interesting. Do you remember which way you came in and did you flash the Parking Pass to the guards? Also what time did you come in around? I know it was a 1pm kickoff and by like 10 they start putting people by the Izod center.

This is actually a very fair statement. Unfortunately, part of the problem is that most of the people down there are transplants from up here, for the most part.

And Pittsburgh has a huge contingent of fans up here - they all come to the Dolphins sports bar we watch the games at. Of course, they have their own section, right next to the Browns fans' section.

The C2C Fins organizer, FINintheMOON, scored the free parking pass. I don't remember how or why but it was good. And, I believe, we got there around 10 to 10:30ish. Enforcer would probably remember better than me.

Yeah see you have to get there earlier than that, like the real tailgaters. :wink2:

My one crew that I hang out with gets there at Midnight the night before (they have a three hour drive each way, so why not right?) and the others usually are there for a 1pm game by 8am at the latest. Its good times.

You can usually find my crazy *** there between 7-8 no matter if its a 1pm or 4pm kickoff. :hi5:

Here's a picture of my crews tailgate that gets there at midnight (this is from the Jets@Giants game we bought tickets to in October):

Funny actually because a couple of Jets fans who we tailgate with go there almost every Monday Night for MNF and sometimes Tony is there hanging out with him. He's actually opening up a place in Pequannock (where I'm from) so I'm pretty excited for that.

That's pretty cool. I went there once when Tony was there for lunch with my husband and when I walked in in my Dolphins gear, he was at the door and he pointed to me and yelled out "that's the team."

No he didn't. That was right after our 10-6 season, so he had nothing to laugh at then. :tongue2: He did sit and chat with us for a few minutes though. Cool guy but I don't like him on tv at all.

He's very different in person, but often he's hard to talk to since he's running around doing all sorts of things at the tailgate. He actually lost his sunglasses and used my buddy Duane's (he's in the picture with the green New York Jets shirt with two ladies side by side) sunglasses for a game. Pretty funny stuff.

He seems pretty cool - just very abrasive (read: loud) for my taste. I'm sure he's very nice though. And btw - I'd love to join you at one of your tailgates, but I've been treated personally VERY shabbily by some ill-mannered Jet fans, starting out by being spit on by one. It's very difficult for me to feel comfortable there as a result. I only live 20 minutes from the Meadowlands.

Sorry to hear about your prior visits to the Meadowlands, but as I'm sure you know not all Jets fans are like that. There are fans like that in every stadium (accept Arizona, where there are no fans) and I can relate to that story.

Back in 2006 a bunch of us, maybe 40-50 from JetNation.com (the site FinFanInCali/like2god invited me from) went on a trip to Cleveland (we do a trip every year) and while tailgating we had horse **** thrown at us by I'd say a 12 year old boy, and thats probably adding on a year or two this age. They had cops on horses go by and the horse **** down the street a kid picked it up and flung it at our tailgate. Fortunately, there were some cops tailgating with us and went over and took care of the matter.

However, when walking in I had a woman try to poor a beer on me but instead I slapped the beer out of her hand and then a man came up threatening me, I pushed him out of the way and then had a hamburger tossed at me, which missed. The cops escorted some of those fans away. I was not making a scene, just walking through the parking lot with a couple of nice Browns fans that we met. My mistake for wanting to go in early and leaving the group. :pity:

I can assure you that if you come to either one of the tailgates I go to on Sundays that you won't be treated poorly. Most of the guys I tailgate with are my friends and we're fun loving people. Sure we will smack talk, but thats as far as it goes (except for the Redskins game last year, but we won't get into that;)) Heck each tailgate we seem to host fans from the visiting team. :hi5:

To top it off, I myself and bringing a Patriots buddy of mine to the Home Opener. I'll be his body guard all day.
