From pre-draft analysis I still think Ginn could have been a good player if he didn't get stuck in a developmental wasteland with Cameron and then Sparano.

He is a pure deep threat guy that was forced to become a possession/#1 WR. If we used him properly he could have been successful. Probably never successful at the spot we drafted him in but decent numbers.

lol. Great image. You know, if there is a heaven, and I get to go there, I hope:
    1) There are no computers, mobile phones, or electronics of any kind there
    2) No Jets fans.

I never get tired of this one. Or his two returns for td's. Ginn had some very nice anti Jet moments.

God the speed makes me excited. I'd kill for Ginn right now.....at least on kickoffs. I think he could be fairly successful in this offense with a good Ryan Tannehill. Successful as in a #2 guy who makes you some plays.

He is an upgrade over Bess and Naanee though. Would have been nice to have him when we had Marshall.

I think I'm one of the few people who REALLY likes Ginn and thinks he would be a good reclamation project. I accept my minority status

Bess can't stretch the field. Decent at finding holes in zone defense but he hasn't shown enough to be a playmaker. People like to compare him to Welker and frankly I don't see it.

They're 2 different kinds of players, but Ginn disappeared too much. Bess is solid and consistent.

I was at that game, probly the best football game I have ever been too, great experiences with random fans during that one.

I liked Ginn at times but he was to soft when it came to YAC, all he did was try to find the sideline and run out of bounds.

True but Ginn was never going to be the player Miami tried to force him into. Bess is great for what he is a UDFA. He lived beyond the billing but he is never going to be a guy that scares corners. Decent safety blanket but that's about it. I'd rather take Ginn over Bess because its hard to find playmaking at WR.

Honestly, if you used them both correctly they'd work very well together. Ginn's speed would allow Bess to work his magic underneath. We had them together for 2 years but it just never materialized that way.

Yeah we had them together but we didn't use them properly. I really would have liked to see How Ginn would have worked with Marshall.

I want to know why we aren't using Bess all that much in the passing game.

Marshall and Ginn are an afterthought for me.

Hartline had a real good day.
Anytime Bess gets three catches for 43 yards I'm happy.

Second greatest sporting event that I've seen live. All the trash talk that lead up to that game. They came in at 3-1, we were 1-3. They made fun of the Wildcat, while ended up trying to use it and **** the bed lol
I was in the corner of the Enzone that he scored. Loudest I've ever heard that stadium, to this day.

I wish we still had the old Orange Bowl just like it was in 1982 for our home field. I see my favorite old referee in that video, #40, Pat Haggerty. He had this odd way of signaling good on PATs and FGs that I'll never forget. Maybe the old man in me, but there were better refs in those days with guys like Haggerty, Tommy Bell, Ben Dreith and others.

IMO, that is overblown. I see similar things with Hartline. He goes down as easily as Ginn did. Why doesn't anyone say he's soft? I think Ginn is smart. He knows with his skinny frame if he tries to lower his shoulder and run over people he won't last more than 2 games. There were plenty of kick returns I recall that he took straight up the middle and ended up under a pile of bodies. He didn't look soft then.

Me too. Wonder if the 9rs would take Naanee for Ginn straight across? Probably laugh themselves silly if such a trade were proposed.

Oh I can;t agree at all, Monsieur Propre.

Ginn showed me many many times that he appeared terrified of being hit. His body language said it all, and sometimes his eyes too.

What really sold me was him running put of bounds on third down just before getting hit (or maybe 4th?) that we REALLY needed badly and Sparano screaming at him. I watched him drop balls when a guy was coming to hit him, specifically those times. I saw him catch a ball and GET DOWN ONTO THE TURF conceding himself to avoid getting hit. On punt and kick returns, I realized he danced around like he truly was scared of getting hit.. not just like he was eluding guys to make a play.

I trust my eyes and gut on this one, dude. I've been around some dudes who were nervous as **** about being hit (some who had been struck a lot growing up) and they all had that same fear vibe in their body language when they felt threatened (i.e. anytime physicality of any kind was invovled).

I mean, maybe I'm crazy and wrong, but I would bet a lot of money on Ginn being flinchy about contact FAR FAR more than the average football player. Hartline is positively a roughhouser by comparison.

If Ginn goes out there and plays like he is Jorvorskie Lane, he won't last till half time. When you have his body type, discretion is the better part of valor. His game is speed. Even with his penchant for getting down to avoid a big hit or going out of bounds to avoid a big hit, he can still bring a lot to a team with his speed and return ability.

Yeah Hartline doesn't break many tackles either but IMO he has a better knack for getting open as well as better hands. Ginn didn't have very good hands and wouldn't really embrace contact and looked to me like he was playing scared. But he was a Jet killer so that outwieghs all his flaws lol
