Yes it is your right, but it shouldn't have been a shooting foul, and in that terms they let them play on, and they lost.
True but if KG isn't consistent they lose alot of games. There have been I think 2 games where KG really struggled. 1 against the Cavs and 1 vs the Pistons. OVerall though KG has put up plus 20 on most nights when needed. With the Garbage man playing the way he is playing its force guys to double up inside leaving a Pierce or Allen to shoot a 3. Which if Allen is truly back it just gives them a big threat from 3.
To the officials credit though. I would hate to have their jobs. They get yelled at, cussed at, criticized constantly...
Agreed but thats not the reason they lost. I know alot of fans blame one call or many calls (including myself) but there are other reasons why you lost. Hell it wouldn't be so bad if The Spurs didn't lost game 1. I bet there wouldn't even be that big of a fuss over it if the series were tied.
KG has been playoff MVP so far hands down. Kobe has dropped the ball so to say too many times. I think the Lakers have bailed Kobe out a couple of times.
I guess you guys are right. I thought Pierce was a big part of their playoff success but KG has been more.
Like last game or a couple games ago ( not too sure which one it was), I believe he had like 13 pts on 4-16 shooting.
It was actully game 4. They didn't go to him early so he never established himself. Plus they were guarding him tigh not giving him a ton to operate. What I'm liking about KG instead of taking the fade away right away he is attack in side and trying for a 10 footer. What I'm not liking is he is being to generous, has wide open looks and forces a bad pass. He probably could of have about 35-37 tonight.
Rip Hyperextended his Elbow and his status is up in the air for game 6. I tell you if he doesn't play then they have no chance.
Yup. Without Hamilton, and with Billups still not 100%, you can stick a fork in the Pistons. Oh, and Wallace seems like he's about to have another meltdown, much like game 6 of last year's conference finals. Other than that, though, things are pretty good.
THAT IMO, is what is wrong with the league today. TOO many of the stars are used to getting ticky tack fouls IN their favor. So when they do not get the calls they do not know what to do. I think it mainly because the league coddles their superstars TOO much. Just bc it is Lebron, or Kobe, or Rip, etc... they expect to get a call just because they miss the shot or lose their balance when a lot of the time they just mess up... The way the games are Ref'ed is my BIGGEST problem with the NBA.
Hamilton was mugged repeatedly by the Celtics, especially when he was on defense. There's a reason Ray Allen had 29 points...and it wasn't that someone answered his lost-and-found ad about his jump shot. On one play, Garnett basically hip-checked him to clear an open shot for Allen. I remain amazed that they didn't call that. (BTW, lest anyone think I'm being a crybaby, make no mistake, Boston did enough to earn the win. I don't think the officiating was great, but it wasn't why Detroit lost.)
the refs keep getting worse and worse, and so do the players(complaining, flopping)..the nba is heading down a path i don't think they wanna go down
Well, before we all start piling on the NBA refs, let's try to remember that bad calls are a part of every sport. Don Dekinger singlehandedly cost the St. Louis Cardinals the 1985 World Series. Poor officiating cost England their match against archrival Argentina in the 1986(?) World Cup (remember Maradona's infamous "hand of God" goal). The examples go on and on.
Bad calls are DEFINITELY part of every sport. I just think the NBA is getting worse and worse. I think their refs are by far the worst of any major sport. Sadly they can influence the out come of a game more than any other sport too (minus maybe the home umpire in Baseball). I have never heard a fail safe way to fix the problem. They are human ... However, I still think the BEST idea (for more sports than just Basketball too) is... They all already have a grading system. Well use that grading system in college or minors as well and then when minor league/college refs/umpires start grading out better than the Pro ones... switch some. That way it gives incentive for both the college refs to get better and incentive for PRO refs to stay on top of their game. Pretty simple really.
Did you hear what Sheed said after the game? Likely going to get fined for what was said too Totally agree, the NBA favors those superstars more. Exactly. Camon that was no foul, KG is 6'11 260+ Rip is what 6'2 190? When screens are set on little guys they look worst than they really are. Btw lets talk about how Rip continues to pull on jerseys, hold arms of players, and putting a headlock on Ray Allen which lead to his injury..... The last couple games they have cracked down on Pistons doing such things.
The league might get what it wants. Really does look like the Celts and Lakers are the two best teams in the NBA right now. I'd have to pick the Lakers over anyone from the East now. Kobe just will not be denied, I haven't always been a huge Kobe guy and still aren't in a lot of ways, but theres no denying he is the league's best player right now.
If the Celtics win one of the next two I am going to have the unpleasentry of not being able to root for anyone in the Finals. I cannot root for a Boston team, except maybe the Bruins, and I hate Kobe Bryant. Joy.
I cannot tell you how over joyed I am that I wont have to watch the Spurs any more this yr. Now if only the Pistons can complete the cycle. The Darkside is slowly crushing the rebellion.
Great to see the Lakers close it out. Couldn't go because it was Senior Sendoff but I caught a great 2nd half.
Did you guys see the new finals format? 2-3-2. Thats right Lakers get 3 straight home games. So if they take either game 1 or 2 thats pretty much it.
It has been that way for a while. However, only for the Finals. I just pray the stinkin Celtics lose. I CANNOT cheer for ANY Boston team. They all just irk me so...
I should have bet more. I told you guys it was a great bet to take the Lakers to go to the finals at 3 to 1..and at the 2 to 1, I got..it was still a gift.
Very simple. You rebound, defend the post, and you have a superstar scorer..you have the championship formula.
I agree with Pink Dove; you're selling that bench short. Luke Walton and Sasha Vujacic have both been excellent in the playoffs (calling Vujacic the next Toni Kukoc is overselling it a bit, though). Farmar was horrible against Utah, but he's bouncing back, and Turiaf is a quality big off the bench. Also remember that if Bynum was healthy, they'd have Radmanovic coming off the bench, where he's better.
was that before the season? if so im impressed, if not you, me and everyone else knew we were atleast headed to the Conference Finals
