http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...omas-passed-concussion-test-wont-play-sunday/ Let's see what the rookie Miiler can do.
Sucks for DT, hope he ends up alright. Kinda excited to see what Lamar Miller brings to the table though.
Whatever will we do without his 3.5 ypc average? The kid flashed in week 2 (I think) last year and has absolutely nothing since. ~20% of his seasons yards came in that one game. He needs to step it up or he's gonna be out for a lot more Sundays. Out of a job that is.
You got that right.. Think we scored on him D...I would like to apply to be his personal trainer and nutritionist so we shape that *** up know what I'm sayin..
He was a brilliant pick by Ireland. To move up to take a RB. It was brilliant. Though it was hilarious to see people crash and burn when we didn't take Mallet LOL. To be fair DTrain has looked pretty damn good at times. However I hated that we moved up for him.
We'll miss his pass blocking compared to the other backs, so I hope it doesn't end being an issue with Miller getting some snaps (in all likelihood).
Trust me Deej, Thigpen can ball out Recall C Williams from 09? Set a record already for return Td's in the CFL this yr, with 8 games to go...dude will be back in the league. I've watched Thigpen, he can play.
That was last year when he was dealing with an injury most of the season and was still very raw at HB. He's looked like a different back this season though. He's been running hard and looked like he might be a good compliment to Bush. My guess is he'll be back next week.
Why is everyone drawing conclusions on D-Train based on last season? He was a rookie who battled injuries all year. He's looked so much better this season from the preseason to Houston before he got the concussion. Give the kid a chance.
This is also very true. I remember at one point Sunday he was set up to the left of Tannehill and a LB'er came on a delayed blitz through the right side and he shifted over and picked him up beautifully. The Raiders have a pretty good run defense though so I'm not expecting much out of Miller, though I am excited to see what he brings.
It's fine to not be happy about moving up to draft him, but don't take out your bitterness on Thomas. That's what a lot of people seem to do.
Almost 11 yards a touch is still pretty damn good. And he suffered a concussion on that play. I'm pretty willing to give him a pass on the fumble there.
He averaged 100 yards those first two games as I recall. Then he missed a few games and carried the groin injury the rest of the year. He played well Sunday and as mentioned, his blocking will be missed. If anything, his status strengthened off that performance. Even if Miller is great, he's not going anywhere based on that game. Lest anyone question his toughness, it was a helmet-to-helmet hit that put him down. Doubt the coaches will get on him for dropping the ball after being knocked out. - sent from my Android using Tapatalk 2 -
He hasn't shown me anything yet that he can be good in the NFL. I'm not saying he wont be, I'm saying I haven't seen it yet. Come talk to me when he gets his rushing average over 4.1 ypc (a very modest average for an NFL caliber back.)
You're telling me he hasn't shown you ANYTHING yet? He had a couple really good games last season before injuries got to him. He's played well this preseason and played very well Sunday before getting knocked out. I'm not saying he's going to be the best running back in the NFL, but he surely has flashed at times.
no he's saying unless he simultaneously scores 30 tds while resurrecting the unicorn............it won't matter.
Having had a couple of concussions in my time on earth I can tell you it's a lot like "waking up" afterwards. Anything I did in between getting said concussion and "waking up" was done entirely on cruise control. In other words anyone questioning him for losing that fumble is crazy IMO.
What exactly do you know? Are you a scout? Former GM? Or do you sit on the couch and watch the games? I am so sick of negative whiners!
Okay...so what do you know? Your assertion that he's good is no more valid than my assertion that he isn't by your own criteria. And by being negative and whining about negative whiners does that mean you're sick of yourself? Your post is rife with irony.
Because expecting an NFL running back to average at least 4 yards per carry is unrealistic expectations
Lamar Miller would have been active and hawking reps regardless of whether Thomas was healthy or not.
Okay, I guess saying I haven't seen ANYTHING is the wrong choice of words. But damn near every player in the NFL has at some point flashed some talent. If you made it to the league you have talent. Just because it shows up a couple times doesn't mean you're going to amount to anything special.
