or does it even apply yet. I know players with 4 years or less time in the NFL have to go thru a 24 hour waiver period. If they make it thru anyone can sign them. Question is this 1 Do players who have been on an NFL roster that have been cut today have to go thru the waiver period prior to the season starting. 2 Do players that have NEVER been on an NFL roster, in event, were just signed in April, have to go thru the waiver process after being cut today. 3 or is is first team come first team served this time of year as in regards to sgining any players that were cut. For the verbage freaks, sorry, added a q to the word process. I will go to the corner and put my hat on now.
Site rules: Since you are new, I decided to quote this from the [Site Rules] tab found at the top of the page. _______________________________________________ Some of the NFL rules on player transactions can be confusing. This is a legitimate query, and we have posters here who are very informative on various subjects NFL. With new deliberations between the NFL and NFLPA, rules and regulations often get lost in the fray, and what was last year is not necessarily this year. If you have anything to offer on this particular subject, please enlighten us. This site welcomes those knowledgeable posters.
I'd be very interested in claiming Roddrick Muckelroy, who was cut by the Bengals yesterday; he'd be great depth at LB.
Rams need receivers also and had the second overall pick. I am sure they will put claims in on the better ones released then. Guess that makes another question. Since the Rams had the 2nd pick in the draft and we had the 8th pick does that mean if they put waiver claims like on 3 people that are WR they have first choice at all 3 ? Or does it go like the draft, waiver claim allowed on one then the next team with the lowest pick gets the waiver claim on the next player ? Thanks. Been around football a long time but never really looked into this waiver claim stuff at this time of the year.
