He won't either and honestly I think it's almost on purpose. When he got passed over for the last columnist spot that came open at the Sentinel (correctly, Berardino deserved it) he quit being a beat writer and has acted as a columnist (albeit only writing dolphin stories) ever since. It's also why he seems to have a stream of assistant beat writers who all seem to leave very quickly when they realise they'll have to do all the heavy lifting and get none of the credit. Truth is though in this new age for newspapers, acting like a talk radio host on twitter gets the Sentinel site hits and I imagine they're quite happy with him for that. To keep this on topic, I wouldn't be shocked if we only have 3 WR on the roster this evening.
Perhaps. It's all moot, if we need to rely on anyone not named Tannehill at QB we're probably f*cked anyway
I don't want to derail the thread anymore with this Ireland stuff, but I'm sure he's not the only GM in the NFL that has released a fourth round pick a year after he was picked.
One thing I think we need to stay consciously aware of is whether we're evaluating players relative to the standard of our current roster, or the standard of what you actually should be seeing on an NFL team. I think it's easy for us to be surprised that some players are getting cut relative to what we've seen overall this preseason, when if you compare their play to what most half decent teams are putting out there in the same spot it's clearly inadequate. Gates would be a good example of this; if we had a decent level of talent at WR I don't Gates would have been in the discussion for a roster spot at all. Better imo to make room and bring in the new. This is going to be a season of weekly roster moves.
just poking a little fun at you guys, settle down, don't get your panties in a bunch Miss. And I agree... Pruitt was definitely your boy.
For all we know Green Bay have never had any intention to trade James Jones for draft picks, it's only been speculation from people outside of Green Bay based on recycled rumours from previous years and our need at WR. The Packers are hoping to contend for a Super Bowl this year, why on earth would they trade a contributor for picks next year? That's something for non-contenders like us to do.
Why not take a look at those two guys .They were impressing enough to make the James Jones trade plausible and neither will cost us a pick.
Naanee's a goner once they are able to acquire any WR that even resembles a vet. My guess is that he only made the roster because they really can't start Hogan and Matthews at split end in week 1.
