That's really swinging for the fences lol We'd probably be looking at like a 1st and 2nd or 3rd I'd imagine. That poor bastard deserves a change of scenery more than anyone though. He's wasting away in the desert.
If this happens I will never say another bad thing about Jeffe the rest of my life. I will have an "I Love Jeff Ireland" sig and he will be my avatar until I stop posting here.
I think it would considering his contract is huge. Trading them Matt Moore for Fitz would be some kind of irony though.
Anyone else that might be available that would be swinging for the fences? We've seen Wallace and Bowe's named mentioned.
I could easily see kenny britt being available. Whether anyone wants that headache is another story. Mike Wiliams (tampa)?
One who could be (which I'd hate bc I think he's an idiot) is Desean Jackson. Seems like they've been getting tired of his **** in Philly.
No to both for me. Britt is another Mr. Glass w/no brain. The story on Mike Williams is that he's lazy so I doubt that goes anywhere either.
I'm just throwing sh*t against the wall here..... Hakeem Nicks DeSean Jackson Greg Jennings/Jordy Nelson Roddy White
But in all reality we don't know that we don't still need one. It's risky, but we could end up trading a bust for one of the top 3 WR in the League.
Roddy White has 3 years left on his deal, about 5 mil each year. Just saw Fitzgerald's contract. WOW! This is Jennings last year on his current contract.
His QB's may not be the best, but why would he want to come to the Dolphins. Tannehill may be the real deal eventually, but he is still a rookie. The Cardinals right now are a much better team than the Dolphins. Fitzgerald is 28 years old and has been in the league for 9 years. If he is traded, which I doubt, the Cardinals should at least try to trade him to a team which has a chance of making the playoffs and a legitimate Super Bowl run. The Cardinals owe him that and that team is certainly not the Dolphins. I just don't see Fitzgerald having any interest what so ever in being traded to the Dolphins at this stage of his career.
No. Not at all. Way to early to tell. All I'm saying is we have no clue how good he'll be. He could become multiple year Probowler. But he could bust. I'm just saying if you had the chance to trade for Larry Fitzgerald and the cost is a QB who has zero career starts you should probably consider doing it.
I think realistically, we're down to Mike Wallace, Dwayne Bowe, and James Jones, and probably a significantly less likely but possible Percy Harvin.
I was going to say... he signed a huge extension last year. I hate to burst your bubble but Fitzgerald isn't going anywhere.
Because our 1st round pick (and whatever else would be included) would be better than a team who is going to make a SB run. I doubt it's going to happen but the point was to name someone that hasn't been mentioned and would be considered "swinging for the fences".
Never really had a bubble , just throwing out names that would be considered "swinging for the fence".
Convinced? No. Trade him for Fitz right now? Hell no....no doesn't even seem like a strong enough word. I'm not saying this to be a dick, but this by far the worst idea I have ever heard on these boards with the worst rationale behind it I have ever heard.
Non-hockey fans won't know what the hell I'm talking about, but some hockey fans will remember this. In 1993 the Ottawa Senators had the #1 pick in the draft. The universal choice of every pundit was Alexandre Daigle. He was can't miss, the next Great One. On draft day the Quebec Nordiques (now the Colorado Avalanche) offered the Senators Joe Sakic and Peter Forsberg. The Sens declined, afraid of what Daigle could become. Alexandre Daigle became on of the biggest bust in NHL history. Sakic and Forsberg will be in the Hall of Fame one day. I'm not saying Tannehill will be bust, but nobody knows for sure. I'm not even saying you should make the trade, I'm simply saying if the scenario arose, you'd have to seriously consider it, no?
agreed on britt..talented but mental. i could see him being available though. no one is going to make their choirboy players who are friendly and non-controversial available though for the most part. Williams has always been a favorite of mine. I think he can do great things and wouldnt cost a hell of a lot. Buy low. Nicks and the Giants are discussing long term deals. Not gonna happen. They love him. Falcons are trying to make a SB run. They traded all those picks for Jones to help white not as a reason to dump him. Those others I could see that. Yes we do know that we'd still need one. Thats why we took one.
I'm saying its ridiculous to think its more important to get Fitz then find the answer at QB. Makes so little sense, you don't consider it on any level, ever.
Fair enough. And I'm not saying this to be dick, but you didn't come across as dick while responding to one of my post for a change. But it is funny that you had preface what you said with "I'm not saying this to be a dick."
I think you at least consider it. In the end, you and Boik are probably right not to do the trade, but you have to at least consider it. It's not like Tannehill is Andrew Luck or a young Peyton Manning. In the end, all Tannehill really is at this point is a converted WR who had 19 career starts as a QB in college and zero in the NFL.
