Sherman's says Bess is the only guy that deserves a spot.

Ya think..well it's wide open..gonna need the next game to make those cuts..

Sit Bess..dont run the ball, and get as many reps for all the rest..just go no huddle the whole game to get as many reps as possible, completely exhaust them to find out who will keep fighting and make plays.

No doubt. I'd like to see the same thing with Slaton and Thigpen.

I voted for him because my guess is he makes it. If it were my choice we could cut him right now.

Maybe Naanee can do us a favor and get arrested for something. That will make it easy for Joe to cut him, even if he is O'Keefe's secret lover. ;)

You may have seen that written somewhere but I doubt it's representative of their actual speed. Marlon is definitely faster than 4.49...

One thing that I think has been overlooked in regards to Miami's passing game is that when the media (i.e. the Finsiders for the most part) have interviewed guys like Reggie Bush, Daniel Thomas, and Lamar Miller, all three of them have spoken to at one point or another being lined up in the slot or out wide. Obviously with the preseason, coaches probably aren't going to show those types of formations and plays. However, if Philbin and Sherman are as creative offensively as I think they could be, I feel like we'll see Reggie Bush - maybe Miller as well if he trains on more - lined up in other places than just in the backfield.

I'm by no means saying that mitigates any concern I have over the receiving corps. As far as I'm concerned Davone Bess is the only one worthy of a roster spot right now (I mean seriously, what is going on with Brian Hartline's calf-strain? Was part of his leg amputated or something?). That said, Miami's offense, even for the 3rd preseason game, seemed pretty vanilla in my eyes. Conversely, I was at the Bengals vs. Packers game, the 3rd for each team, and Green Bay's offense was throwing out all kinds of formations, no-huddle, screens, etc. But they can since it's roughly the same starting group other than two savvy vets in Jeff Saturday and Cedric Benson. For Miami, I think a lot of the "vanilla" in the offense is attributed to them finding and trying to develop guys, namely the receivers aside from Davone Bess. I'd imagine we'll see some different things come week 1 against Houston - both concerning formations and plays, as well as names on the back of Miami Dolphins' jerseys that aren't presently here.

Always been of fan of Edmund Clyde because of his skillset.
The Redskins are probably gonna cut Anthony Armstrong because of signing Garcon and Morgan.
He's not a complete receiver by any means but he's a good deep threat when matched up with a QB that can get the ball there.

We invested a couple of years as I recall in developing AA. He had one good season in Washington didn't he? I'd take him back. At least he showed something when he got the chance. You have 5-6 WRs ahead of him now?

From what I understand the Redskins were losing patience/have lost patience in him due to his inability to improve at beating press coverage.

IMO Moore, Matthews, Hogan, Fuller, & BJ are battling for the last spot, and IMO right now it's Matthews' to lose, unless any of the other 4 have a superior week and game.

I was originally thinking Moore... but then I looked at the other guys trying to find a redzone threat, and I came up with................ lol.
IMO either Wallace or Fuller will make it b/c of their size advantage and redzone potential. Right now I think it's Wallace..... but it's more of a hunch than a gut feeling. I could see Moore replacing Matthews though, with Matthews to the PS.

I'm still lost on it.... but I think Bess, Hart, Gates, Pruitt are entrenched.

I just don't understand why Wallace was only out there for like 3 plays last night. Doesn't make any sense in a competition unless his spot is already guaranteed and they wanted to see the others? Beats me.

that's what I was thinking--- that Wallace's spot is safe and the staff wanted to give the bubble guys an opportunity to steal the spotlight.

I don't know what he's done to make anyone think he is secure. yeah he made some catches when he was playing against soft coverage, but has he shown he can get separation when the coverage is tight?

I'm trying to figure out if the term " ankle weights" is a realization, or a temporary situation?

Even stranger was that Hogan got virtually nothing to prove his worth. Really not understanding that based on what we've seen.

I don't think it's so much about what he's done but rather what they think he might be capable of if he continues to develop. We all heard the talk he was given on Hard Knocks. Wallace is one of those "trap" players IMO where you commit yourself to the long haul for the hopes he becomes a special player. Pruitt & Moore pretty much are what they are; they'll most likely always be a fringe receiver with the potential to develop into a #4..... but Wallace has that physical "it" factor IMO that puts his ceiling potential well above theirs, and that's what the staff is holding onto IMO.

Good question, Deej. I wouldn't have predicted an "ankle weights" issue with Wallace considering his measurables (4.48 forty, 1.47 10 yard, 6.8 cone, 4.12 shuttle). He's one player whom I think won't last on our PS, so I'd rather have him on the 53 and give him a chance to develop more for the off chance of becoming something semi-special.

Maybe it was a day where he was dragging *** in practice, and the Hk camers got the sound bytes from the coaches film room that night.

Considering what he's done over the course of his career with Miami, and this preseason, I'm inclined to think that's not the case.

Garcon, Moss, Morgan, Hankerson, Briscoe , Armstrong, Banks (KR/PR)-Robinson (KR/PR)
The problem for Armstrong during this camp has been injury. (bad shoulder)
He was only healthy for the last preseason game.
But 2 years ago when he was healthy he was one of the best deep threat WRs in the NFL.
Then injuries and Rex/Beck kinda killed his production.

    -lol your sig

    -BTW how has Fuller looked?
Now that Tannehill has been named the starter you would think Fuller would get a boost from that going forward.
Fuller ain't the fastest guy but judging from his size and his skills at A&M he should be effective on slants/posts/square ins.

I realize this coaching staff is going to make the mistake of keeping Naanee, but you guys exercised good common sense overall.

I want you to be able to call me out later in the year and tell me I was wrong. If he makes the squad I want him to shut me up. I will not be upset. That will mean good things for Miami. However, I am extremely skeptical. He stunk that much on Friday.

At this point I wouldn't mind seeing:

    Hartine
    Bess
    James Jones
    Anthony Armstrong
    Rishard Matthews
Chris Hogan or Marlon Moore (take your pick)
