I think that's a prime example of PFF being inaccurate or being too lenient in what's a drop and what's not. Do we need to rehash the Henne to Fasano pass vs the Falcons last year again? I'd rather not. He had more than five drops last year.

  2. I think trading away BM is an Ireland mistake that is going to haunt us all year.

Are you talking about the 2010 Falcons game? Fasano does not drop many passes either way you cut it.

I believe it was the first game of the preseason last year. I don't want to get in a big debate over Fasano with you. I know you support him. If you think he's worth what we are paying him in salary ($3.6m), there's nothing I can say to change your mind.

I think trading BM was a good idea.

I think not replacing him was a mistake.

It will always be impossible to know what Brandon Marshall would've done in the context of a first-year head coach and a rookie QB.

A player like Marshall can seriously get in the way of the development of a positive team culture in a context like that, and for all we know, if he were still here, he could be doing things that would make us want him gone so that Philbin and Tannehill could put together a positive program here.

People are mad that our WRs are dropping balls so they want Brandon Marshall back.

That's like thinking guns are too dangerous so lets get hand grenades.

  8. That mistake makes trading him away a mistake. He was the best reciever we had and we did not get good value on the trade. It seems he was shipped off more out of desire for him to be off our roster then it was about increasing the quality of our roster. Maybe he needed to go for personal reasons but Ireland should of been able to get more out that trade or he should of sat on the deal until we knew we had enough quality recievers that we could afford to give him so inexspensivily.

If the idea of trading Marshall away was to prevent his always demanding the ball and letting the young receivers get some targets so they could develop, it's too early to tell whether trading Marshall was a mistake. We are now in a time when Marshall is gone and no one has had time to develop yet.

We basically blew up this whole offense and are starting from scratch. Of course we suck. Of course we suck even more than we sucked last year.

At least he's an NFL caliber receiver.

Many of you who voted Naanee on the roster on the wr thread now realize he shouldn't be on the roster. But he is going to be more than likely, and what is worse is he may start. Woe to the Dolphins.

Most people who voted for Naanee did so because the poll was who we think will be on the roster, not who we want on the roster.

Good teams will beat great rosters. We still have a ways to go, but marshall wasn't the answer.

That is true. Here is a quote from rotoworld on Naanee: Legedu Naanee secured just one of his five targets in the Dolphins' third preseason game Friday night, gaining eight yards.
We've seen Naanee talked up by one South Florida media outlet in particular, but he's long been a thoroughly ineffective NFL receiver in actual games, and this preseason has been no different. The journeyman-caliber wideout has two catches for 20 yards on seven targets through three exhibition contests. The Dolphins aren't exactly setting up rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill for success.

The Herald's article about bubble players, lists also the 26 they consider locks, and he is one of them. If that doesn't make you feel sick to your stomach, nothing will.

There's also opportu it's for improvement. At the star of last season Burnett was killing me, never seemed to make the play, but by the end of the year he was a solid contributor.

Sometimes this stuff just takes time.

Not ready to rule out Nanee as a part of our team. I think he's got the talent to make it at this level. He showed some flashes during his time in San Diego, and actually played decent in Carolina last season. The skill that Nanee has that will keep him on the roster is his ability and willingness to block in the run game. Nanee is an excellent blocker for the WR position. We will probably see him quite a bit this year. I just hope he can start holding onto some passes. He's got some big play ability as well so i'm not ready to rule him out after a couple of poor showings in pre season. Unfortunately I think he and Bess are going to be the guys starting, but I am still hoping for Clyde Gates to emerge and show us something...anything!
