I have been *****ing about Ireland for the last two years. So yes, now is the time to continue my *****ing. He is responsible for the overall talent on the roster and the talent is in the bottom tier of the NFL.I could care less if some people on here don't like me constantly bringing up how inept Ireland is as a NFL GM. He is terrible and hopefully some of those Ireland supporters are starting to see that this team will never become a quality team until he is replaced with a GM who actually knows how to build a championship NFL football team.
He looks like he never played RT but unfortunately the talent evaluator who drafted him in the 2nd rd thought he could will Martin to play there.
so at the half compared to last week the offense improved by 7 points and the defense got worse by 6...
He's got **** for hands. Johnson had been swatting his arms away like it was nothing. Really embarrassing display.
My post wasn't in response to yours. We posted at the same time. I've made no secret about where I stand on Jeff Ireland.
I only noticed Johnson really swatting away his hands once; there could've been more. I'm more concerned with his footwork. Martin in pass-pro seems like he's not getting back to the point of contact quick enough. He over-compensated once on his kick-step and Johnson just redirected inside (I think that might've been the sack he had on Tannehill). He also seems like he's off-balance. Johnson beat him pretty swiftly with an arm-over on a run play in the first and tripped up Reggie for no gain. Richie Incognito whiffed on a cut block that got Reggie crunched. Somebody walked Artis Hicks back into Martin and he fell down and let up a good hit on Tannehill by Charles Johnson on a stunt - I think that was more Hicks' fault than Martin's. Either way, the O-line did not look good. Jake Long is Jake Long, and I didn't really notice anything glaring from Pouncey either; just a steady night IMO. I also thought they might have run more power plays tonight than I was expecting. I didn't see last week's game, so I have no basis for comparison. But I didn't really notice that many zone-blocking plays. Perhaps those come out more in the regular season.
If drafting Martin was an attempt to leverage Long, it's not working. If Martin is too slow to play RT in the NFL, there is no way he will ever be able to play LT. I don't see him being a member of the Dolphins in a couple of years and if not for the fact that he was drafted in the second round, I don't think he would be a member of the team this year.
Considering the circumstances I thought Tannehill actually looked like he belonged. He can't make the line block better and I didn't feel like he left much if anything on the field. Drops really hurt but he can't control that either.
I was impressed with Kheeston Randall. Despite his pass-rush skills being a mark against him coming out of Texas, he had some nice push. Had a nice spin move in there as well. Also had one nice tackle. I think he got held on the play and dove and managed to trip up the back going through the hole. Could've been a 10 yard play; Randall kept it to 3. Rishard Matthews got down the field pretty good as a gunner on some punts. (This may have been Quinten Lawrence. I think I got the # wrong.) Olivier Vernon got stoned by Jordan Gross. I guess that's not really that surprising, but if something were to happen with Cameron Wake...yikes. I thought Jamaal Westerman did an okay job; flashed more than Vernon, but this team still needs another pass-rusher IMO.
Tannehill is fine. He is a rookie, if this is the worst we're gonna see from him, we will be OK from the QB position.
i thought so when he had time he made some great throws problem was the receivers dropped the ball or the oline was annihilated and the dline either sacked him or batted the ball back at him
He had a high number of tipped passes at TAMU too. Last season, far more than any of the other QBs in this past draft.
I am not a fan of Bayless, but you are certainly entitled to your opinion. If I really cared what people thought of me on here, I would just come on here and write that the Dolphins are great and Ireland is the best GM in the league. I have been stating for over a year that this team is going nowhere until Ireland is replaced. If that bothers some individuals on here, so be it. nly
If youve been saying the same thing for a year in all 1,906 posts maybe you should try something new. You don't like Ireland, everyone gets it. Put it in your signature or something and talk about something else.
