I think we'll find that what happened with Chad, effectively ends the troubled/questionable FA WR experiments for Philbin's Dolphins.

Roy Williams in an enigma. Anyone who's a pro bowler with Joey Harrington throwing him the ball and a scrub with Tony Romo throwing him the ball just doesn't make sense.

actually it was john kitna.harrington was his rookie qb i think ... truth is he and romo did well in the redzone together just not outside of the red zone, but yeah i get your point a lil.

He has had the dropsies pretty bad himself. Always expected him to finally get it and really shine. Never did. He should be a cheap price.

Well, tbh, imo we are in a situation where we play the young guys, take our lumps and hope one of them is actually a diamond in the rough..like Bess in 08, we have to take a chance.

We're not really going to add anyone that helps us at this point, IMO.

We've got a glut of reasonably effective 500-800 yard receivers. I'd say Bess, Hartline, and Fasano are likely, Clay and Naanee are possible. I'd also say that Chad Johnson realistically as a starter would give you that kind of production, and either losing him or adding a guy like that to replace him isn't particularly beneficial. You're not really getting anything new, and there are diminishing returns on depth when you're adding a 5th or 6th guy that gives you similiar quality maybe in a slightly different fashion.

Roy Williams just sucks. I think adding Plaxico Burress and trading for James Jones are pretty well similiar moves.

Way I see it, adding a Vet Wr is basically adding a roadblock to one of the young Wr's who POTENTIALLY could be more then average.

    Gates has great speed
    Fuller has great size
Matthews/Wallace and Pruitt have nice size/speed combinations
Marlon Moore has actual game experience

Some like Chris Hogan, I personally like BJ Cunningham but there is nothing in his game so far that says anything but exactly what he is, a late rd developmental pick who has been inconsistent so far.

But without playing these guys, we have no idea what we have, this was one of Sparano's great failings, and the 300 reps CJ took with the first team were wasted on a player who no longer is here, there is a lesson in that imo.

The Bears were pretty desperate for talent at wide receiver and Williams didn't do much in Chicago... I'll pass and take my chance on Roberto Wallace as the third or forth option and hope he develops into a starter.

grid yeah. truth is cutler wnt dn last five games roy had a groin thing first 4 games and he still had a descent yr .he would be a solid 2 here and a 1 in the red zone. he's not a superstar anymore but still real good, exsp for cheap money for sure.

Bottom line, do you think Roy puts us over the hump and gets us into the playoffs are improves our record significantly? Of course he doesn't.

for sake of debate. I think he does ,he's a good posession rec type, and most of his long tds have been on quick passes slants skinny posts were he breaks a tackle and is gone .I dont think he is all of that anymore, mind you , but i think he would fit here fine , but i respect your pt..

I disagree with that. If we traded for Jones, he walks into camp as a day 1 starter and retains the job for the season. IMO, he'd perform better than Chad would have and better than Hartline and Naanee will. Burress would be mainly just a red zone specialist, not an every down starter.

I'm really hoping Wallace can step up. He has a lot of desirable physical attributes. Maybe he can make it translate. I mean he has been a developmental type player....maybe he's developed. That is the goal after all. The name implies it.

    To be fair and literal.

Fair: I dont see how he didnt beat the living **** out of that woman sooner. Yeah it's never okay to hit a girl and yadayada....that woman deserves way more than a headbutt. Not that I'd do it...I'd just not associate with her. Ever.

Literal: He didn't lay a hand on her

As Opp said, it was Kitna, and it wasn't them. It was Mike Martz. Proof?

    Mike Furrey had 1,000 yards.

I think there's a legitimate argument Jones might be a step above, but I'm not sure I agree and I doubt it would be that much. If it's just incremental, I don't think you're doing much to help either, the depth is already pretty good.
