Usain Bolt is done at the Olympics right? He is 6'5" and fairly quick ... kind of a showboat though ...

Not intentionally. We just don't know all the details yet.

And the 2nd part of my statement was 100% factual.

Well here we are. Look at Ireland's 2 biggest free agency acquisitions. One fresh off arthroscopic knee surgery and the other in jail. He deserves a little bit of the blame here. Both players were risks and both those risks have been realized and we're not even done with training camp.

Really? It's Ireland's fault Chad got arrested? Chad's NEVER been in trouble until tonight.

    And he cost sooooo much.

Never mind that Richard Marshall guy. Must of been BP telepathically telling Ireland to sign him.

I thought Richard Marshall and Paul Soliai were the biggest FA signings.

Chad's box of condoms apparently ... hope he doesn't drop ... any soap in jail

    IzzyGould profile

IzzyGould Johnson and his wife went to a restaurant for dinner. They return home and she found a receipt for a box of condoms.

Not a free agent. But carry on with the Ireland defense. I guess we're just cursed, right? It will never have anything to do with the man choosing and signing these players.

We're talking about Ireland's decision making. The fact that you're blaming Chad's arrest on Ireland shows you hate him and will look for anything to put him down.

Neither Garrard or Chad were definitely the top 2 free agency acquisitions. #1 was Richard Marshall. All the rest of the UFA signings were 1 yr deals, so Naanee and Hicks are just as big of signings, and both more likely to start all season.

Doesn't hurt to get a little Ireland bashing in whenever you can though, does it? :pity:

Never blamed Ireland for Chad's arrest. You're putting words in my mouth. I'm blaming him for signing players who are bums. Players who do things like get arrested.

Most stories I've seen involve him finding the condoms receipt which means it was hers.

As for the headbutting thing, to me it seems like they were arguing and fighting over the receipt then it falls in the front passenger floor then chad tries to grab for it at the same time as she does and BAM heads together.

With her being mad etc she would be in the mood for calling the police.

Btw, if you were in a car and arguing, do you even have room to headbutt someone? Seems it would have to be the receipt falling scenario. You would think your first thought would be to punch/slap etc if you were going to do something violent.

Ok....I guess Ireland should invest in a crystal ball because Chad's never been arrested until tonight.

I also don't see how vet minimum signings equal big acquisitions.

It's true that they did sign for small contracts, but are they not competing for the starting qb/wr positions? Doesn't get bigger than that, no?

Very true. Doesn't change the fact that it's the responsibility of the GM to try and sign players who don't **** up. I don't have an issue with Ireland signing a guy with character concerns. I have an issue with him trading away a talented receiver who had character concerns for peanuts and replacing him with a washed up, ineffectual WR who, as it turns out, also has character concerns. If the rest of you don't have a problem with that, that's fine. Carry on.

Pretty clearly in the context of that sentence I'm talking about him deserving the blame for signing two players whose seasons are now at risk, not the blame for Chad's arrest. You're reaching to turn my argument into something it's not in attempt to make it sound foolish. I respect the fact you don't blame Ireland for these signings. I choose to add these signings to a growing list of questionable player acquisitions. Agree to disagree.

Was not a big fan of him signing with Miami. On Hard Knocks when Chad entered the meeting room that he was not supposed to be in, It seemed like
Mike Sherman was alittle agitated to me from the get go.

The good news: ESPN can stop talking about/salivating over Tim Tebow for a day. or half a day. Not sure how long they can resist.

every player is a risk. The only way you can find ireland culpable is if you think he should have seen this coming based on chad's past or some other evidence. That is just what is, not twisting of anything.

I understand where your coming from, the dude does seem lost to me..

And by no means am I making excuses if he head butted her, but this woman was known for going into clubs and beating the shi$ out of other women, on tv, slapping other women in the face, throwing bottles inside restaurants.. the quotes you hear about her from other respectable woman are shocking, " big time bully gutter rat" being one..she creates serious anger in people because of her disgusting public behavior! Which then had the producers of the show put a stop to it from all of the public backlash..

I wouldn't be surprised if she literally beat the shi$ out of him..she's a violent chick.
