again, your expectations of value for a quy like Qualls and the reality of true needs dont match up, no pleasing some people on expectations and understanding ....harp away.... its always the same refrain unless they win the WS.
there you go...... for the record I am on here alot saying they don't need to do anything.....Nix and Chavez are fine until he gets back....this isnt football....they can handle it... but glad to see them do something with Joba coming back, he would have been let go anyway...
Wow, you actually typed that in a self-convincing tone... seriously, you have to be the most schizophrenic poster on WHAT we need to get, it's always a "COME ON CASHMAN make it happen" post, etc. ...and then when pointed out how crazy that would be, only then do you state, yeah, we dont need to do anything..... ...only to be followed up with our BATS arent Clutch....we dont have an Ace, blah, blah, blah.....seriously schizophrenic. entertaining as hell....but schizo for sure.
No no, I said we don't need to do anything, however doesn't mean I didn't want them too...there is a difference.... also there is nothing schizo about the fact I say they arent clutch hitters, and your batting practice "ace" isn't one.....I have been saying the same thing over and over again..pretty much the opposite of schizo actually....
I know, same here bro..... come on it is the regular season, we all know us Yankees fan get bored until October anyway.... Now dont be late with dinner tonight!!!!!
yup absolutely.... I check the stats, watch the games, but it doesnt mean I am not bored....to me baseball passes the time for football.....I guess thats what happenes when I have seen 5 championships....
Dear lord sweat baby Jesus in the manger, thank goodness he wouldnt waive it, if true...... ...then again, dont have any indication Cashman was going to ok it. At best a stop gap for Tex return, but really????
Casy McGehee has has some big hits for the Bucs this year. But, he's had a horrible streak for a long time for us now. I look at it as we were dumping McGehee anywayz, but we saved $500k this year after all the smoke has cleared. I don't expect Qualls to even be involved in the Bucs rotation one month from now. I look at this trade as MEH... for both of us. Gaby Sanchez was a definite upgrade over Casey McGehee for us.
Yanks got him because he can play 1st and 3rd....and has some pop, with Joba back, Qualls was the odd man out....but they got him after he DFA'd so to get McGehee back isnt so bad in that respect...
The curse of the missed flyball by Grandy.... 162 games there will be ups and downs as you know.....I mean to think the Yanks were going to win the Division by 8 games this year was a long shot.....
Him just being out there this year is a victory in itself. Again though command/control are usually the last things to come back to pitchers with TJ surgery, so he might have been missing his spots a bit today.
28 pitches thrown, 16 stikes, and 12 balls, at one point though he was 11 strikes and 12 balls, so he did throw the next sequence 17 of 18 for strikes....I guess that is a plus...
I wasn't even talking about strikes vs. balls, mainly if he wanted to throw a pitch on the outside corner but it stayed middle in, or if he wanted to throw his slider in the dirt but it hung instead, stuff like that in terms of command/control.
Yankees have shut down Manny Banuelos for the rest of the season. He only pitched in 6 games and hasn't pitched since May because of a bone bruise in his left elbow. He's only 21 years old and he's left handed but the fact that he hasn't been able to stay healthy for a single season so far has to be a bit of a concern moving forward. And yes Betances is still been a mess, only now it's in Double A. I bet you see him moved to the bullpen at the start of next year. I don't think there's any way he can be a MLB SPer.
Well if he's healthy then I don't think that's a bad idea. He's thrown in 6 games this year, he needs to pitch to build up his arm strength and get work in.
I like Nova and by no means am I expecting more from him, I mean after all he was an emergency starter who has done a very nice job all things considered, but he has lost his ground ball ability. I wonder if a short stop in AAA to get his confidence back while working on some arm slotting mechanics isn't a bad idea.... Bring up the next "Nova" for a few starts......
He's better than an emergency starter (he's probably a solid 4th starter on a good team) but I think he was pretty lucky last year in terms of overall numbers. This year he's just not getting any ground balls, which is weird because he was/is suppose to be a ground ball pitcher. I remember I speculated in spring training he might have been hurt, perhaps he still is? Again just me speculating.
Man this team looks gassed....the grind baby is just starting now.... We need our ace to stop the bleeding and shut these boys down...
probably not enough.....nah man they are just an old baseball team, it starts to catch up with you around the middle of August on...
okay so guys 9M a year on Melky, or 10M+ for Swish.......readyyyyyyyy go......and be honest, honest assessment here.....I think it is safe to say that this point that last year isnt a fluke with Melky...the kid has developed into a pretty good ballplayer...because there is such a thing as development...
