Certainly passes the eye test as far as stuff goes.

Couple of very sharp curveballs as well.

Jacob Turner is also pitching right now.

So far, 4.1 IP, 2 hits, 2 walks, 2 strikeouts, one run.

From the few highlights I saw it seems like he's does a good job at pounding the fastball in to lefties without getting wild.

Very solid debut. It was against a terrible lineup, though. His next game is against a good offensive team, Atlanta. Hopefully, he shows us something in that game.

He is what he is, IMO. Definitely has good stuff and a nice cutter, but breaking ball was pretty meh overall with a few exceptions.

Certainly nice to have around but he's nothing special.

And you don't think it's something he can develop? His breaking ball I mean. He is only what 21-22 years old after all. I don't mean into a dominant pitch but rather just a nice "plus" pitch.

Not disagreeing with you just getting your thoughts.

Was there yesterday. Really liked what I saw from Eovaldi. That said, it was the Padres.

The Cardinals acquired reliever Edward Mujica from the Marlins for third baseman Zack Cox, tweets Peter Gammons of MLB Network.

    Cox, 23, was the Cardinals' first-round pick in 2010. He's hitting .254/.294/.421 in 316 Triple-A plate appearances.

Based on the moves from offseason to this point of the regular season, Miami must have different clocks or mechanisms of measurement then all other franchises! :tongue2:

The Pirates also obtained right-handed reliever Kyle Kaminska in the deal, Peter Gammons of MLB Network reports (on Twitter).

Of course he has, however, the measurement of "all this time" is still the same. The fact could be he was incorrectly valued as a key future player with upside beyond what he displayed! But enough time and didnt produce?

Sanchez, 28, hit 19 homers in both 2010 and 2011 and entered the 2012 season with a career batting line of .269/.346/.440.

Granted, he posted a .202/.250/.306 batting line in only 196 plate appearances with Miami this year, and the Marlins optioned him to the minor leagues on July 5th.

Im sure he is saying that giving him all this time. But yet Gaby has had solid years up to this point. So what do yall mean by all this time and hasnt panned out?

Last year he OPSed .701 from June on, and this year he OPSed a hilarious .556. This from the most important offensive position on the field. He's 28.

What am I missing? He's probably better than what he's been over the last year but a ~.750 OPS from first base isn't hard to find. I'm absolutely thrilled we got the #33 pick for him.

Dont get me wrong. I agree it was a good trade. But Sanchez has been a above average player for the Marlins the past 2 year. So I just dont get the thinking of, we gave him all this time, and he never did anything.

I texted my 2 pirate buddies instantly and said I hated the trade for them. Don't get me wrong at all about the trade.

I feel like OPSing .700 for four consecutive month at 1B isn't an above average season but point taken.

Two months of .870. Two months of good offensive numbers, four months of awful.

Gorkys is fast garbage. Cox I believe will end up being a bench bat, if anything.

I wouldn't call 800 OPS in July and 770 in September awful.
