I'm assuming you mean Anibal. I really wouldn't want to get rid of him. Unless the return was great or we really don't intend to keep him. When you're building a team it seems to me like you should keep the guys that arent part of the problem.

 

I'm gonna go ahead and say that's ridiculous, considering he put up three elite seasons after he signed the contract.

 

I don't want to either but it looks like they aren't going to resign him. This is the case of better to get something than lose him for nothing.

 

He's leaving anyway.

Hanley is an odd case because even last season when his OPS was just .712, he showed signs of elite Hanley. Before he went out with a season ending injury he was playing great. This season he just isn't.

 

Sad. Would much rather lose Nolasco and use that money to resign Anibal. I hate Nolasco....

 

So we did find another way to lose!

 

Man this sucks. I really thought we were going to be a playoff team this season.

 

I thought we'd win the division.

I picked a third place finish.

 

I picked a second place finish with us and the Braves advancing to the playoffs through the Wild Card spots. I had the Phillies winning the division.

I was so off.

 

I thought Hanley and Reyes would hit over .290 each. I felt safe with that.

The Tigers acquired Omar Infante and Anibal Sanchez from the Marlins, Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports tweets. The Marlins will acquire Jacob Turner in the deal, MLB.com's Joe Frisaro reports (on Twitter). The Marlins obtain prospects Rob Brantly and Brian Flynn along with Turner, Gammons tweets.

The teams also swap the picks they obtained in last week's competitive balance lottery, Peter Gammons of MLB Network tweets. The Tigers will now have the last pick in compensation round A (after the first round), while the Marlins will have the final pick in compensation round B (after the second round).

Because he's not as good as Anibal Sanchez. Pretty obvious..

 

I don't have any real opinion on what we got back. Turner seems fine, the rest less so. That's about as much as you could expect back realistically.

That's fair. That's probably the feeling every one should have when it comes to trading for prospects. Indifferent but with an open mind.

 

Wish I knew more about Turner.

he was heavily touted coming out in 09', one of the best prospects in a long while.

 

He's hasn't been nearly as good as touted.

He's a good prospect but nothing special. His ceiling is as a #2/#3.

 

I really like the trade for Miami. I agree Turners ceiling is a 2 or 3. But I dont think hes to far from that. So its nice to get something that will probably contribute next year. The other 2 prospects are interesting. I like it.
