Down to 201, which is really amazing considering I was 255 last yr.

Do not know if I'll make my target of 195 by the 4th of July though.

199 at today's weigh in, I do believe I can hit that 195 goal by the 4th.

By the end of July I very well could weigh what I did as a Freshmen in College a loong time ago..about 184 or so.

    Thanks Bro!

    My keys were:

-Do not drink booze and eat
-an insane amount of bike commuting, I'm so locked into that I ride 10 miles per day or I don't "feel" right
    -

Funny thing is, even at 255 or so, the only real noticable aspect was a double chin, I'm like 5'10 and just thick even now.

Save for the veins popping out all over my legs.

That's how it is once you start getting in to good shape. Once your body is in real good shape you get that mind/body link and one plays on the other.

Booze is a killer. A few weeks ago I drank beer (6-12) four different days of the week and I prob put on like 7-8lbs  The other thing that goes along w/that for a lot people, is late-night eating. I'm pretty good about not doing too much of that though. I just drink like a fish at times.

That being said, once you get into really good shape you can burn off that beer weight pretty fast.

Sometimes, as you say do not eat a lot with a stomach full of booze..think about it..booze/yeast/added carbs..fermenting in your stomach..absolutely a bleech situation..

Protein and 1 to 1 water to beer if you can manage it, for me it is 1 to 1 booze to green tea to stay hydrated.

If I'm hungry I go with a can of tuna and garlic salt/powder and salsa.

Worst thing about booze for me is that it kills all ambition. After a solid weekend bender my workouts the following week are almost worthless. Add to that the fact that it makes me crave greasy terrible but delicious food and it's a double whammy.

I finally browsed this thread lol, but that is incredible man!! I am on a similar mission of getting down to 180ish (my former HS weight when I played lacrosse). I might even want to get a little below that number too, but we will see once I get there.

I couldn't about biking. I started biking to commute to and from work and it is amazing (minus the changing clothes and sweat part lol). I have found that I arrive to work more awake and feel better throughout the day. Also as strange as it sounds I always feel like I have more energy after biking.

BTW, what kind of bike do you have? I have a crappy Magna that I am thinking about upgrading.

I have an Takara Outback 20 speed that I bought last April.

All steel which makes going up and down the mtns that much more difficult. And the part about energy was spot on UCF, we had a heat wave this week and i couldn't sleep very well but when I commute I do not feel the lack of sleep.

    Sorry to hear that bro!

This is one of the reasons why I buy fairly inexpensive, older, steel framed bikes as this can happen.

Raleigh, Schwin, Takara etc, they get pinched you are out 200 bucks or less.

Funny thing is the bike was an Oasis Magna Beach Cruiser. It wasn't anything expensive or nice, you can buy the same bike at Target for probably about $119. I filed a police report and they told me that it's very common in Gainesville and they recommended getting a U-Lock, which costs around $40.

It just blows. Now I need to decide if I want to spend at least $150 getting a new lock and bike... and in the mean time I won't be able to ride my bike to and from work.

Little tip for you UCF check craigslist for a similar model, or the local swap (or whatever they call it) newspaper as a lot of times people will buy a bike, ride it once or twice, and then never ride it again so they either donate it to Goodwill or put it up for sale cheaply.

I've bought two or three bikes at Gwill for a grand total of 35 bucks, they all worked fine, but needed new tires.

No sir, never tried it, used to use Chromium Picolinate, but not the more expensive stuff.

Down to 196.2, a 5 pd drop in 16 days, suspect it will bump back up slightly, then continue the downwards trend, at this rate I'll hit 190 by the time college kicks back up in mid August.

When a young man I'd run 2.5 miles per day and lift 40 minutes at a gym, I got down to 178 or so, but was happier in the mid 180's.

Here is how my body "works"

    7/16 196.2
    7/19 199
    7/20 198

Same diet, same level of excersize a 3 pd weight gain in 3 days, 1 pd weight loss in 1 day afterwards now my trend will be to drop below that 196.2 7/16 weight level if I continue to do what I have been doing, this is the benefit of monitoring your weight daily, you get a "feel" for how your body works and if you need to make any changes.

I've used stuff that contained it, it was good. I'm currently taking Xtend (sounds like an ED Pill), its a powder, TASTES SO GOOD. Mixture of stuff that I take daily. Keeps energy levels up and keeps me from snacking on stuff (I'll grab this instead).

I've got a similar weight change. What kind of meals are you doing? I just switch to a 4 a day with breakfast being the largest meal(and minutes after I wake up). Also, I've switch to minimum red meats and meatless twice a week. I've noticed that I've had more energy and haven't been sick since I started.

I'm only 21 and found a 5 day workout that includes cardio. Feels good to get in shape, never been stronger.

Breakfast of maybe an english muffin and coffee, light lunch of soup and sandwich and a simple dinner of things like spaghetti or beans and rice etc though sometimes I will drink my supper and have a bag of smoked almonds..shh..don't tell..

I have been biking like a mad man up and down the mtns and not quite working out as often as I bulk up really quickly and feel I need to lean up more then to add mass.

Basically the temp weight bump is normally due to indulging the night before, when I bike the next day my weight returns to it's baseline or lower the next morning.

One of the reasons why I like using a spreadsheet and weighing daily is you get to see the trend.

From a high of 212 on 5/22 I'm now down to a consistent 198, but suspect this week it will drop further as I've restricted calories and am still biking 10 miles per day or more, this tells me soon my body will no longer be able to hang onto the stored energy.

Honestly, I really do not know, what I look for is more the "type" of food and the amount I've consumed.

For example, may have an egg omelet for breakfast, no lunch, bag of smoked almonds one day, the next english muffin w/cheese and kielbasa then a sandwich, and smoked almonds for dinner/late night snack. By my fuzzy math, that is about 1,400 calories or so a day maybe less.

Now, don't ask about the booze...

All you would eat for one day would be an egg omelet for breakfast and a bag of smoked almonds? I hope that's a big *** bag lol.

I can get by snacking throughout the day, but when it comes to dinner time I need to have a meal.

For example, Sunday is my "heavy" day, meaning

Breakfast-3 eggs scrambled w/cheese, 2 sausage patties, 3 potato cakes
    Lunch-egg sandwich from l/o eggs/heavy cayenne pepper
Dinner-veggie chili wrap, sweet potato fries, bacon wrapped jalapenos/hot sauce.

Sausage patties are probably the one thing I would not normally consumer on a heavy day

    Monday will look like:

    -two pieces of toast w/cheese/coffee
    -no lunch
-Dinner beans and rice made with coconut milk OR sandwich w/oven fries OR bag smoked almonds

So you alternate between heavy and light eating days I am assuming?

There is no way I could get by on your light days lol. That seems like such little food. But hey, you have to find things that work for you and stick with them. I don't know if you like pizza, but I found this Publix Organic Margherita Pizza that is out of this world; you can eat the whole freaking pizza and its not that bad for you. You could probably work it into one of your days for dinner if you want.

Good call on the almonds though, I eat them like everyday. What type of oven fries do you make?

PS- I feel like making a new thread where we could all list certain diet foods that we enjoy that are healthy.

Sundays are normally the "heavy" days with left overs from breakfast becoming lunch.

There are no publix's in my area.

What I will do is take one of those cheapy pizzas, add some additional toppings like cheese and jalapenos.

Almonds are my favorite, good value to cost and they taste great. Oven fries are just regular potatoes that I'll slice either think to make more of a french fry, or super thin to make potato chips in the oven.

    And you did..:P

I second not being able to survive on your light days.

I strongly believe in the 4/5 meals a day with minimum snacking. Weekdays, I eat as soon as I wake up around 5:40(read somewhere that this helps your metabolism), granola bar with PB and a coffer around 8:15, yogourt/cereal bar @ ~10:30, sandwhich around 1-2 with something with protein value(I like eating closer to two for more energy for the gym at @5), and than salad/light dinner around 6 or 7. So far, I'm not losing weight(gaining muscle) but I haven't been running like I should. Just moving weights...

Interesting, I'm a bit different then as the amount of protein I require for muscle growth is waaay under what I've been reading people are intaking, I've never used protein powder etc and have 46 inch chest and 16 inch arms without it.

I've reached the age where I'm more concerned with staying lean then building ever larger muscles as it is also a bit harder to take weight off.

Been doing crossfit for just over 5 months now. I am really happy with the results. I still need to work a little on my diet, however I am in much better shape now.

One of the coolest things is that it has helped my shoulders. I hurt my shoulders during highschool, which has hurt my ability to bench a lot of weight. Four months into crossfit I went from 3 times a week to 4 times a week. Since I started going on Thursdays, I had to max out on bench for the one strength exercise per workout. Much to my surprise I maxed out at 305lbs, which I haven't been able to do since highschool.

Well fellas, I finally wore out the Takara, the rear wheel warped so much that I had to park it.

No worries though, have a Ross Clic Ten Speed as a back up..it does not fit me per se, but life is never perfect.

Paid about 200 for the Takara, the Ross was a 10 dollar Goodwill bike that needed about 25 bucks in repairs..but is twice as agile as the bulkier Takara.
