I appreciate what DirecTv is doing in this case. Viacom is trying to strong arm DirecTv because they're one of the 4-5 dominant media forces and DirecTv is not willing to raise prices of its customers for Viacom profit. direcTv is using the only power it has, to have customers call up and complain. The alternative is higher priced satellite bills....
That may be, but this isnt the first tim this has happened, two large media companies are playing chicken and we are the ones who get screwed. "That **** aint right" as Dansby would say.
Actually **** viacom....they have 30 minute shows with 20 minutes of commercials already, now they are trying to hike up the prices, and DTV will do the same to us. DTV is holding out, good for them.
How's that a solution to a ton of commercials during a 30 minute show? Yes, I can fast forward. And yes, I already DVR tosh, workaholics and south park....so I do this....but the fact is, Viacom is a joke.
I have an IMPOSSIBLE time watching that dip-s#it and not thinking his parents were siblings..... I have had NUMEROUS falling outs with Direct TV. Have ditched them 1.3 years ago and couldn't be happier. As much as anything, it pisses me off to no end that when you are in contract with them, everything is fine on their end, as soon as you ditch them, the bend over backwards trying to make everything right, and offering the moon. Why the HELL didn't they do that while I was in contract with them? Screw Direct TV
I've had directTV for at least 13-14 years and have never had a problem with them or their service and would even say probably better service than anyone I deal with. The one exception is this year I found a sports package that I was being charged 14 bucks a month for the past 5 months. I never ordered the package and was pretty pissed off. They were willing to give me half of the money I paid for it as credit. I was still unhappy, but it was better than nothing. teaches you that you always have to check your billing statements, can't take it for granted.
Amen. I've never had so many problems with a nationwide company in my life. Virtually every bill was wrong. They tacked on charges during installation. I had to replace my boxes twice because they were malfunctioning. In the end they tried to nail me for an extra $400 for breaking contract, when I cancelled them. Then tried to nail me for another $400 for two dvr's they say they never got back when I shipped them to them in boxes they sent me. Seriously the worst company I've ever dealt with.
I've had NOTHING but a great relationship with DTV since I have had it in 2006. Free upgrades, deals, nfl ticket for free, great customer service, picture quality etc
Seconded. We had tons of problems with dish/TWC. DirectTV gave us a free DVR upgrade, NFL Ticket, and the movie package for $2 a month. No complaints.
Had Directv for 12 years they tried to keep me but I was just frustrated with the strike, the Dolphins keeping Tony, and we were moving. After 8 months with Time Warner I really missed it. Since I signed back with them they have treated me the very best. I can't complain at all even if I wanted to.
How isn't it? It's not like you're going to get rid of commercials and I know you're totally exaggerating the length of commercials. MOST television shows are 21-22 minutes long in a 30 minute set. So a little under one-third is commercials BUT advertising is what keeps these cable networks on the air and able to deliver quality programs. Unless everything was like Tosh.0 and was just green-screened showing internet videos... THEN maybe we would see less commercials. And I'm not dissing that show because it's hilarious... just not every show has that simple of a premise.
I mean, I don't have facts, but based on watching a lot of **** on tv, it seems viacoms channels (mtv, comedy central) their commercials seem to be longer....or just more of them.
I love my direct... I blame Viacom for this crap. They are asking all the directv customers to fund their revenue losses on the internet. Ridiculous. Don't blame me for you putting your shows on hulu.com. Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk 2
