For you to tell me I should not hate change is silly! It's my opinion that I happen to like the Miami Dolphins logo very much. So much so that I don't want any changes unless it's to go back to the 70's logo.

Did you ever stop to think that the reason I may have shown aggresive emotions were because the person I quoted may have used a throw it in your face aproach to it? You totally dismissed his post like it was absolutely ok to do.........

I stated that my recollection was that the old logo was generally among the most mocked and laughed at. I referenced one reporter to provide an example of the type of mockery I recalled. My point is that, while you're entitled to your opinion, I believe it to be a very minority opinion. I have a brother who loves/loved Zubas pants. His opinion is valid, but the majority just thinks he has very bad taste.

 

I don't care about his post. I was talking about the aggressiveness in your post towards me and my posts.

I'm sure you didn't want the original logo to change but then you're completely comfortable with the current one. How do you know beyond any doubt that you wouldn't like the new change? You don't. It is irrational grumpiness or fear that makes you say that, there is no other reason. Embrace that and wear like a badge, instead of arguing obvious logic.

I like the logo just fine as it is. I agree.

And I hate change also. I think people who like change are grumpy and irrational. Change requires us to break our habits and become unset in our ways and Im quite happy with my feelings towards the Dolphins logo.

I mean what could really make the logo better? Adding teeth to the Dolphin? That would make it look more like a shark anyway....

 

That's funny bc when I think of people who hate change it's the Grumpy Old Men club.

 

It's human nature. Most people are averse to change. They tend to prefer the known and familiar. I would guess that in most polls right after a logo change that the majority would prefer the old one (not Dolphin specific, I mean in general). But if you took the same poll, say 10 years later, but asking if people wanted to change back, you'd have it swing the other way and very few would want to change. I would say that once you reach the point where it's 50/50, your past due for an update, b/c those numbers are heavily skewed by people's natural tendency to avoid change.

I bet if you're bank account changed from $X to $X + $1,000,000, you'd continue your hatred of change and demand it be put back...right? Change is bad after all.

 

True but if my bank account changed from what it is now to substantially less Id be back hating change. Change works two ways my friend.

Hating change is like hating breathing.

 

Breathing isnt change, its necessary. Change is necessary on a case by case basis. IMO, its necessary here.

 

Well unlike breathing, change will happen long after you're dead.

Unless you are talking specifically about uniform changes, not liking change is like yelling at the sun for rising, the heart for beating or for women being crazy.

 

Again, change in and of itself is not the problem, its a nebulous concept that needs to be quantified. You cannot logically or rationally hate change. Change works three ways actually as I've said before (positive, negative, neutral). Its those quantifiers that you hate or not.

I'm with FinD and Dupree on the topic of change.

While I like (not love) our current logo, I wouldn't mind if it changed neutrally or for the better. I simply can't envision a change I would like, but I hope we get one.

Have you talked to wrestling fans? When someone changes their uniform people go CRAZY.

Also if they cut their hair or change their make up.

 

As a former pro wrestler, I try very hard not to talk to the fans, but only once, did anyone make a comment when I switched from a blue unitard, to a black one. And really it was my fault since they were right that my elbow pads now color clashed with it.

The aggressiveness I spoke of was directed at the post that I quoted in which you then repied to mine. It all started there but you said you did not care about that post so I don't know what to tell you.

 

The very article you posted the link to, showed that a majority of those responding to a Boston Globe poll preferred the Pat Patriot logo to the Flying Elvis logo. So I guess not a very minority opinion after all when the Pats fans who read the Globe mostly agree with me.

 

That one is already an alternate logo anyways. I'm in the clear.

 

Not really. It was an old article and I stated earlier people tend to be resistant to change. So the closer it is in time to the change event you'll find those that want the old regardless. It's mostly just related to the fear of change, though.
