When one of the opposing teams players is asked how the fast break is running so well and his answer is that the Heat players are crying to the ref's instead of getting back on defense. Thats not projection. Never heard another player stay that about a team in my life.

Because a notorious ******* in Rajon Rondo says it...it must be true. I also believe everything I read on the internet.

We have ONE guy that does that a ton. The team as a whole ALL year, was one of the better transition defenses.

    no chance.

At HOME...I agree. In BOSTON, they NEED the game called with the same consistency of the regular season. If Boston gets just a smidge of favoritism, the Heat have NO CHANCE whatsoever at winning tonight. If they SWALLOW the whistles (this is key), the Heat have NO CHANCE tonight.

basically, prior history suggests, that the Heat have NO CHANCE tonight. Barring some miraculous effort by ALL of the BIG Three. That is the only way they can overcome it.

    I don't think they can.

and yes Heat fan, they won in Boston in the playoffs last year....but that was a healthy Chris Bosh winning his matchup with KG. This year, he is coming off a 3 week absence and tasked to do the same, when it is unlikely that he can at this point.

Media is slowly shoving me into the corner of #6 to criticize him in this series even to me is laughable.

I don't think he needs to win the matchup with KG. He simply needs to offset him. I'm not sure if this is right or not, but it SEEMED like with Bosh in the game drawing KG away from the post offensively and keeping him out of the deep post defensively for the most part, Lebron was a MONSTER on the boards in those minutes. No-one on the Celtics besides KG has a chance to out rebound Lebron and that is a huge advantage with Bosh on KG.

However I realize this very well could be our last game. Had a lot of fun with you guys this season...haters included.

It has definitely been fun. I don't want it to end which is probably why I'm irrationally confident about tonight. Mentally prepared to lose but I actualy believe we'll win.

I'd hate to get into a advanced stat analysis, but if you want to GUARANTEE a Heat victory under these circumstances, the Heat needs to win it's matchups in 3 of 5 starting spots.

Using WP, Mario Chalmers won his matchup with Rondo for the first time in Game 5. If they get an offset there, or a win of the matchup, then they can overcome ANY type of officiating.

Problem is that one is a foregone conclusion (it won't happen, Rio is at a disadvantage) and the other (a big three sweep) is very difficult.

The same numbers that made the Heat a prohibitive favorite in this series, and suggested that Boston was a terrible team, are now suggesting that the Heat have NO CHANCE to win tonight, so there is always that.

If anything, this Big Three era is testing alot of advanced stat metrics. This series is bringing it to a head.

Has nothing to do with testicles. Has to do with officiating and knocking down 3's.

Very well could all be true.

In my head I would like to believe a complete game from both Lebron and Wade with just enough help from Bosh would be enough to take this game. But maybe it isn't.

Trust in Riley and expect Andre Miller to be the starting PG with RIO off the bench. Then a considerable push made to land a 7 footer.

Expect the entire bench to be canned except for UD, and for names such as Ray Allen to be mentioned as six men.

The truth is that the Heat will be right back in the Finals next year if they lose tonight in all likelihood. The East is terrible going forward.

In the end, the Heat played terrible defense in two first halves in Boston, but Offensive Efficiency failed them overall, so you fix that with a distributive PG. The one available that would help is Andre Miller.

I'd keep Shane actually but amnesty Miller. Joel might have some minimal trade value. Cole is a nice developmental piece moving forward

The Warden's contract is not worth trading. He plays up to his money. Miller, yes. Amnesty. or trade..... Shane? ehhh if he is the piece we need to trade to complete a trade that brings in a 7 footer. Do it.

very big people, that because of their size, give you relief rebounds, deter shots, and score easy baskets, and thus make the game easier for all your smaller people.

    it really is a revelation.

    Better than Doc's.

90-74 and Led the largest one season turnaround in NBA history.

and this is from a guy that has been ripping him as of late. But facts are facts.

LOL I actually forgot he coached in 2010.

So if he isn't getting out coached, and he is so great then why do the Heat not execute well at the end of games? It's almost like he draws up a play and Wade or LBJ disregard what he draws up and try to play hero ball.

Even if that's not the case, perception wise it definitely LOOKS like they don't run plays, and just choose to iso/hero instead.

Andre Miller is not the answer for the Heat. Might be the worst defender in the league at this point, and can't shoot at all. The Heat could use a true point guard, but not at the expense of defense and floor spacing. I think Jose Calderon is a better fit. He looks to be on the outs in Toronto, with Steve Nash probably replacing him. Though it looks like they're trying to package him in an Iguodala/Rudy Gay trade.

    Again..his X's and O's are fine....His team management sucks.

Yes, Doc is a better coach. But the differences in coaching is so miniscule that it does not matter.

What kind of plays do you want him to draw up?

The problem with this team is their entire offense is two guys that attack the basket, and everyone else is a spot up shooter. Its easy for defenses to figure out. They just pack the paint and force either LeBron/Wade to drive into the teeth of the defense and hope for a foul, or you're putting the ball in the hands of Bosh/Haslem/Miller/Chalmers/Battier for open shots. We've seen Haslem and Bosh make them before.

If the heat aren't hitting outside shots, they really have no chance. Its the reality of this team. You can't really coach around it.

Perkins complains about complaining even when his complaining is complained about by the other teams main complainers. Perkins has never met a foul he actually committed. He was the same way in Boston. Durant flops a little but not like the Heat. NO ONE flops and complains like the Heat imo.

Thats racist. Those white people been to many a rodeo so they kinda tough. :)

It is not a miniscule difference. I think Spo is an average coach, maybe even slightly above. I hate Boston as well (not quite as much as Miami), but Rivers is one of the top 3 coaches in the league (along with Pop and Thibs...Sloan and Jax arent coaches right now). Rivers calls excellent plays for what his team can run and especially in the final minutes of a game. His game management of situations is elite. His defensive strategies are among the best. Yes teh Heat have had some good quarters but the Heat are a good basketball team so they will have good quarters vs everyone.
