I think we need to discuss the bullpen. I'm fine with a pen of Cishek, Webb, Mujica, Choate and Gaudin. Webb and Mujica don't have the best numbers but I think they are solid options. I think for now Jennings has to show what he has so he occupies the 6th spot. That leaves Bell. He won't be sent down so the next best option is removing him from the 9th inning role. If he continues to struggle, you just don't have another choice.

 

Agreed. Cishek and co. can't keep saving his *** like this.

 

What a waste of money. I hope Bell finds his stuff because he has been miserable this year. Cishek went out there in a pressure situation and just made great ****ing pitches. He delivered in the clutch, like a closer is supposed to do. Just a shame Bell has been struggling- here's to hoping Heath turns it around. Soon.

Extend Stanton tomorrow. Jones got 6 years, 85 million. That's right around were Stanton will be. MarlinsLou, Mainge knows him, is great with these player comparisons and suggested that 7 years, 80 million could get it done. That's the same as Carlos Gonzalez.

 

Anything Lou says numbers wise is absolutely solid gold. Guy is a human calculator.

 

Haha, so true. I'll never forget how he predicted JJ's contract and all the arbitration numbers for the Marlins two seasons ago. It's like he's visiting from the future.

Stanton absolutely needs to get extended. He is someone that can brings fan out to the park and is a great player. Plus he now goes by Giancarlo, which is awesome haha.

As for Heath Bell- he is just proving that unless the guy's name is Mariano Rivera there is no need to spend big bucks on a closer. Cishek, Choate, & co. are more than adequate for closing games. I'd say move Bell to the 8th inning but the way he is pitching he honestly should be sent to the minors. He is more harmful than good at this point. Also, didn't realize we spent 27 mil for a bartender....

 

Guys, I think it's time to vote Stanton for the All-Star game.

It's nice to see Stanton and LoMo swinging the bats nicely. Having Ramirez, Stanton, & LoMo batting 3-4-5 is a scary combination.

Buck continues to be ice cold.

 

I voted for him last week.

 

Nice pitching today all around. Hopefully Bell will turn things around- nice save by him today.
