Same here. Saw it last night, my theater was uproarious at that moment.

 

I saw it during the day, around 2, so the theater was*filled with bluehairs. Me and the wife were the only ones losing it at that. We got stares, but not a single **** was given by us.

the guy next to me was telling me he was there just for his daughter and her friends. He poo pooed the expendables 2 preview so I'm guessing he doesn't like mind numbing entertainment like I do. Anywho, he seemed at the end to really enjoy the movie and people started clapping, so yeah. There's yoru review by many.....

 

Avengers just blew away Harry Potter's record of $169 million opening weekend with $200 million.

I think with the numbers it pulled in overseas during the week and then with this weekend, its made about $500 million in about 7-8 days.

Hopefully this gets DC's *** back in gear on a Justice League movie.

 

I'd rather they skip justice league and just bring war machine into the next avengers sequel......

 

DC properties make awful movies, IMO. Batman is the only IP that translates, and even then he has to be significantly reimagined and placed in a decidedly non-DC world.

No Justice League movie for me, thanks. I'll go see Avengers 2 instead.

That is BS. Independence Day is a terrible movie compared to The Avengers. Just TERRIBLE!!!

 

I was hoping that some citizens would have been saved from falling debris from a spider-web.

Independence Day is def not terrible compared to this movie either.

I do not agree. The special effects were awesome in Independence Day for its time. As big dumb action movies go, it made more sense than the Transformers. However, it was terrible movie.

Couldn't hold a candle to Jurassic Park, which came out before it.

Tony Stark isn't as expendable as Randy Quaid

 

That has been done before Independence Day.

Plus it made much more sense than Independence Day. That scene was so stupid. How could Randay Quaid fly a jet. Did you know that the original scene was for Randy Quaid to fly his bi-plane into the alien ship? That tested so bad with the test audiences, they had to change it.

They both have aliens and they both have New York. After that there is little resemblance to Independence Day.

Watch the movie again and actually pay attention to it. If you thought Katness not wanting to kill was a plot hole, you could count about 50 if not more in Independence Day.

Do I really have to rip Jurassic Park and it's mistakes too? It was a good movie but if you think it's perfect or amazing compared to Independence Day then you're crazy.

I'm laughing bc there's no point in me arguing with someone who thinks there's no resemblance between that Avengers sequence and Independence Day bc "Independence Day is a terrible movie."

I admit, I don't see enough of a similarity to say Avengers bit off ID.

In ID, Randy Quaid flies a plane into a ship and it doesn't really stop anything.

I mean you really are saying that Bourne Identity and The Italian Job are the same because they have car chases in tiny cars.

 

Quaid takes out their biggest weapon before it destroys them so yea I'd say he also saved the day.

OMG, I just realized......Iron Man has a goatee and so did Will Smith!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wait it doesn't stop there, Iron Man's suit is red and GOLD. Who helped Will Smith.....Jeff GOLDblum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They should have just called this Independence Day 2!!!!!!!!!
