I value the ability to read defenses and pocket awareness pretty highly. Tannehill is better than RG3 in both those areas.
I think the funny thing is/was....Ireland supporters and detractors were both saying the same thing. He has this draft to prove himself. The arguments stemmed from the reasoning behind it I think.
They have more experiance under center than RT, i know u have a fresh wad in ur pants over him over ur new discovery that he's the awnser but it is what it is and i prefer him to sit amd learn instead of getting throwen to the wolves.
We better get some WR's down there to help him out..... I like Hartline but if he is our #1 WR going into next year we are screwed....no matter who the QB is.
I'm not saying we should throw him out day one. My point is that based on college tape it's almost impossible to determine whether a QB can read NFL defenses, because they haven't played any. Your logic is also flawed. If on field experience is what allows a QB to learn to read a defense, how would he develop that on the bench anyway. If it happens in the film room, he was attending QB meetings since his freshman season.
Apparently Kiper was bashing us for our pick. I don't understand why, wasn't he one of the ones saying we should take him? Anyone see it? I'm watching NFL Network.
sigh.... not enough alchohol to finish this draft... i downed it all after #8.........bleeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
That's the advantage that Luck and Tannehill have. They had NFL type read responsibilities in college.
I did not hear him bashing us. He isn't that high on Tannehill, not as much as McShay, but he said that Dolphins was the perfect spot for him.
Gruden was giving him the "You're an idiot, I'll nod and smile" look while Kiper bashed it. Then Gruden went on to explain why the pick was great.
Very happy about drafting Tannehill! Anyone hoping Fleener lasts to our second? I know I am. If not grab the best pass rusher, then receiver in the third.
First off I was was saying that compared to having to learn the playbook it learning to read defenses is more important and takes longer to learn to do, so when he said he has a jump on it because he knows the system already i responded to the fact that he needs to learn to read defenses, not that that's the complete reason for having to sit a year or two, but it is part of it. So no my logic isnt flawed your mis reading my intent of my response . TY
Someone who will be of GREAT value to us is going to be available with our second rounder. Still so many great players available and you have to know there will be some reaches.
I like Irvin but are you serious? I think Carrol is hoping he got himself an Aldon Smith. Irvin has the quickest first step in the draft so he has ability.
You guys are right, NFL Network's coverage is WAY better. At least I don't have to hear Boomer's raspy voice.
