I remember randomly deciding to go up to Boston on a random Saturday in May of '03 with my dad to see if we could get tickets to see Pedro pitch vs. Minnesota. Well we parked and before we even got to the box office a scalper offered us 2 tickets 4 rows behind the Twins on deck circle and offered the tickets for 5 dollars LESS than the face value. Nowadays you can't get standing room only without paying through the nose nor would we even dare going to Boston (a almost 3 hour drive) without having tickets already. Sometimes I miss the "good old days" before they won 2 WS and got super popular to the "dead hard" fans.

Sure seems he will be the first one out, once AP returns...but not the last one most likely once Pineda returns....if that 2nd one is Hughes, it would deepen the pen as well with Joba's injury pushing his return till late if at all this season.

Another thing to consider in the whole Pineda trade, without moving Noesi, its not likely Phelps would have been given a role. Always nice to give young arms with upside a shot to learn and build confidence in the bigleagues.

I would be willing to bet the Yankees lead the league in runners left on base....

Got to find ways to knock these guys in....

Not a Yankee fan, at all but I like keeping up with what the fans of other teams on this board are seeing/thinking about their team. The plus of what you just said is that if you are leaving runners on base it means you are capable of getting them on base. Which means in time the runs will come. Sometimes you just need the ball to fall your way.

Yeah, Nunez made a key error in the first (spelling Cano @ 2B) that opened up the flood gates for Minn off Hughes (who has settled down since then).....but Yanks bats came storming back, with Grandyman going yard each time to the plate so far. Tex got his 1st of the year too, and Capt. Jeter with clutch hit to tie it up, and Grandy's 2nd on the night put us in front.

......and that concludes the 3rd inning!

Yup, Grandyman went Yard again in the 4th....3 at bats....3 dingers!

....and that ends the 4th inning (7-4 yanks)

Nunez is at least consistent, I will give him that. Every time he plays he makes at least one error.

However Chuck Knobaulch lives inside him....

It was just the 17th time in major-league history that a player tallied three homers in a game while also tallying at least five hits in that same game. Granderson is the first Yankee to pull off this combo-meal in a single game.

I think he'd be a pretty good bench player but I don't see him as a starter, certainly not for a team like the Yankees.

yeah that needs to improve however if you watch him, he seems like a dude who in time could develop into something decent....he is only 24, tall, has great speed, and has some pop....the guy just cant throw a ball, which is the most correctable thing to fix.....Jeter had 35 errors in the minors once...and he turned out to be one of the better fielding SS's....

He reminds me of Melky, who also had the tools that needed to be developed, and now at 27-28 has turned out to be a good little ball player.....I miss him, I would drive Swiher out to SF in a trade myself RIGHT NOW if NY could ever get him back...

Or a nice add-on trade piece too....however I counter with that the Yankees I don't think are going to be players on much in FA for a few years, Hal has said for a few years now he wants that payroll down under the tax penality and their offseason transactions have shown that....couple that with the never-ending contracts of the leeches Rodriguez and Tex plus having to back a Brinks truck up for Cano this offseason I see more of the same going forward...

A 3rd or 4th guy in a trade, sure like you said a nice add on. I still just don't see him as a starter on a team like the Yankees. They have 7 positions locked in for the next few years (except RF and C) so where is Nunez going to play? Certainly not catcher and his bat doesn't profile to be in a COF spot. As a bench player he has value (although he's shakey defensively with his arm) but I just don't see him as a starter for the Yankees.

right he will be a bench player for now and he will get some decent time playing 3rd/SS/2B/DH....I agree he isnt a starter right now, he needs to develop.....Jeter is done in 2 years (even with his player option), Nunez isnt a free agent until 2017...so he has time...
