Our last Jake Scott worked out well! Hope they sign him...then the odds of us drafting OL in the first round again get slimmer.
Nobody wants to play for this franchise as long as Jeff Ireland is in charge! Get rid of him already! Jeff Fisher did the right move to join a franchise who soon will be in the playoffs...
Good info! I'll believe it when it's done with any of those players and not a rumor anymore, too many rumors that get us hyped about good news and then... we all know the not so happy endings lately! Jake Scott is a must needed signing for sure!
I understand fromhis stats and what people say that Scott is a good Olineman. What puzzles me though is a lot of teams out there could use a good OG and having looked all or any place I could find, that seems to be not much interest in Jake Scott. So, I gotta ask, whats that say about him ? Grubbs and Nicks were picked up as soon as FA started, Wells got grabbed by the Rams. Scott, on the other hand with all his accolades from fans on this board and other boards has not garnered much attention from anyNFL teams. I mean if Tenn could afford Peyton Manning as apparently they can, they can't afford to keep a good offensive guard like Scott ? Tenn head coach Mike Munchak is one of the best Oline guys in the NFL and I am to believe as good as people here are claiming he is, Munchak is just going to let him walk ? Something does not add up.
When the store is out of your favorite cereal do you drop to your knees like Shattner and scream out JEEEEEEEFFFFFFFFFF. I challenge you to go ONE WEEK talking about this team without mentioning how Jeff Ireland is the anti-christ.
He's a 31 year old RG and thought he could still cash in a contract like his last one. If he brings his demands down he'll be more in demand. Right now Miami/Arizona are interested. Will be more as free agency moves along. There's always 2nd tier deals once the group of guys left out there realize there's no 1st tier cash left for them. As for the Titans they replaced him with Steve Hutchinson who even at his age is still a heck of a G.
Really ? for how much on Scott ? Apparently 31 other NFL teams are not losing sleep over signing him. We can get one in the second round and no one will even remember the name Scott. So, how much would you pay Scott to secure his services ? Share with us the knowledge you have that 32 GMS in the NFL does not have, please. inform us.
wow, thats a bit scathing considering all he said was he hopes we can get an OG (who was graded out in the top ten in passing situations last year). Personally if we can get him at a reasonable cost and stop gap a need at OG for now, we can look at the other quality talent in the draft, as there are probably only about 3 guards worth second round talent.
You both dance around the real question. If Scott was so good as you and the other pinhead thinks he is, then please explain why, 31 other NFL teams have showed no interest outside of, supposedly, Arizona. Which, I live in Arizona and Scotss name has not been mentioned one time as a serious player to be signed. Like I said, I will wait And to your compradre, back up funny guy. I have no words or answers for him. Again, you do not even attempt to answer why no teams in the NFL are hungry to sign him. You, as other ignorant ones keep saying, SIGN HIM, SIGN HIM, Why , because someone with a sports drink in his signature says he is a good football player ? Let me give you a hint, This has Justin Smiley written all over it. MAYBE, thats why all 32 teams, including his former team, are in no rush to sign him? Naaaaah, guess people with sports drinks in their signature know all , LMFAO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Little info my friend. Cranberry is within most energy drinks, legitimate ones anyway, on the known market today. You should learn to read contents an labels a little better. Cranberry, outside of goji berry, cranberry is about the best on the planet earth. But of course, you probably already knew that coming from NY and all. I am impressed with your futile attempts at retorts. Let me guess, SUNY Long Island ? I being one that did not benefit from going to college humbly respect those that attended any SUNY LMAO
I can't speak for GMs. I don't pretend to be a scout, or a talent evaluator, but given his stats and the rankings given by a fairly reputable nfl-stats site, he would appear to be worth a look given the lack of talent we have at the guard position. Signing this guy in no ways means we CAN'T draft an OG, and until I hear otherwise reported reasons why no one is signing him all I can go off of for a review of this guy are his stats and grades. For all we know maybe he's just in no rush to pick a team. We have no idea. I don't, and you don't. Why did people wait so long to finally sign Matt Flynn? is it because he is bad? no, he had his own reasons, just as teams or Scott may have their own. and until I hear any reports giving a reason why people aren't signing him, I'm not going to jump to any conclusions as to why. Call me a pinhead if you want, but we're all pinheads in the grand scheme of things.
you should check out this cactus juice called Nopalea. This stuff is fantastic! I saw an infomercial on it last night at work and bought it hook line and sinker! I mean this stuff makes cranberries look like candy in terms of health. WOW. i feel young again!
Dude, I live in Arizona, there is no such cactus juice you speak of. nice try though. Well, I am sure some sheister would try to sell ground up paint chips and pass it off as an engergy drink. Cactus is good for one thing and only one thing Amigo. Its called Tequilla. end of story.
A Scott will probably remember the name Scott....... and Todds, too, since we get called Scott a lot for some reason.
Not a Scott myself. Listen, I was just stating pure fact. Not racist no ignorant not nothing other then a football fan. The ones tha pulled the race card are the ignorant ones or they are other then white and in denial of the truth. Not sure which one. I researched it, posted it, offered it as DUSCUSS and BAM, I am a racist. LMAO, then so be it, by some here, I am a racist. Such is life, I will sleep well and the sun will come up tomorrow.
Just wondering who decided we should only sign players all 32 teams are after. That would give us a 1 in 32 chance of ever signing a player I can't even imagine the Ireland threads then.
Last year, Brian Waters was unsigned as a UFA until the last week of preseason, when the Pats signed him. He had a great year for them in 2011. Apparently 31 other teams were not interested in him either before that time.
Tequila is made from agave, which is not a cactus. Agave is a genus of monocots. The genus is placed in the subfamily Agavoideae of the broadly circumscribed family Asparagaceae. The order is Asparagales. A cactus is a member of the plant family Cactaceae, within the order Caryophyllales. End of story.
The more you know, CAUSE KNOWLEDGE IS POWER! Anyway does anyone know if there have been any updates on Scott?
To those with questions a little info. Last time Incognito was in a Zone blocking scheme was 2006 with the Rams under Paul Boudreau as Oline coach. That was the last time the Rams had any bang and Jackson made the Pro Bowl along with Holt, Pace and yeah, even Bulger. Incognito is made for zone blocking. He had zone blocking at Nebraska under Bill Callahan. It wasn't until he got with Miami that they had him put on 20 lbs and do the mano ey mano stuff Tony loves. Watch the difference in the Jets this year. They go from Bill Callahan zone blocking to Tonys hand to hand combat style.
I would have to guess its all about money. Most likely us and other interested teams did not put offers on the table that were up to par with him and his agents thoughts on what he was going to get. Again, just my opinion of whats going on. Seems to be with the new super low Rookie wage scale, some teams would rather take a pick in the third or even second round, get that person on the cheap with little or no guaranteed money and ignore vets like Scotts demands.
Interesting point of view and possible growing trend for teams to start bringing the signing price of vets down some. So going to a rookie cap may not help the vets in the true way intended .... May take a few years to see how it all plays out.
