Here goes and I am sure some of you will give me the finger, big deal, its reality. Time and time again I read/hear we have done nothing at QB since Marino was here. LOL, well space children, Dan Marino types do not come around but every 3 to 4 decades. I read fans are pissed and those that really reeeeeeeaaaaally have no lives stand across from the Davie facility with BAGS ON THEIR HEADS protesting ? what ? That we did not get Flynn ? We did not get Smith ? We cut Marshal ? We cut Bell an player at the end of his winter in life, sports time playing wise goes ? Here is reality. We did not get Manning. I had mixed feelings about this as I have not really liked ANY of the Manning family since Peytons crap player of Dad played. OK, IF HE CAN TAKE A HIT, Manning would have been hands down, what we needed. As we all know though, all QBs in the NFL take hard hits, regardless of who is in front of them. How many can Peyton take ? Guess, thats the answer at best. Flynn ? OK, he had what, one good oustanding game ? Smith ? RLMAO, until Harbaugh came along the guy was minced meat. Look at the Giants game for the playoffs, they exposed the real Alex Smith. What is that ? A QB that is not better then what we currently have in Matt Moore. I can see all too well what they are trying to do. Build a football team. Do not get me wrong, if we get ***** slapped this year, Jeff Ireland is GONE !!!!!! I cannot say he is a good Gm or a Bad GM yet. He had to follow the all hallowed TUNA until last year, a year that did not develop really, until the lockout was over. He had to do that with a coach that sat in his office while the owner and him publically sought the services of a new coach. Its not anyones fault that Jake was injured ( although therre are a few mindless people here who will assign blame) its not his fault Murtha tore his tendon in his toe, its not his fault that Vernon Carey, the useless piece of humanity that he turned out to be, would just punch his time clock and collect a check all 2011 season. By the way, for the Carey supporters I am sure you have noticed NO NFL TEAM IS LIGHTING UP HIS AGENTS PHONE LINE TO SECURE HIS SERVICES. Why ? the man is useless, waste, punched his ticket , made his money and its now over. Watch and save the post. IF CAREY GETS SIGNED anywhere, he will suck or be a backup. Lots that transpired was beyond Tonys control and Irelands control. Irelands book has yet to be written. I fhe does not score big in the draft ? Yeah, he will be gone after the season ends or maybe before. We have a decent football team and thats all I care about. I actually go to the games, can most of you say that much ? I THINK NOT. Ross is going to be a good owner. He has gotten flogged by what, being honest to the media and fans ? So be it. On the Marshal episode. I told all of you he was a punk when we took him and guess what, he is a punk . I would rather throw to the hot dog guy then put up with the BS you have to put up with Brandon Marshal. Are any of you aware part of his agreement when he came here was he HAD TO HAVE the first parking place where the players walked out of the tent after the game ? Why ? well because he was brandon fieakin Marshal. Yeah the FO granted it but after about the first season it became ridiculous in what he was asking for. I like many people that actually watch the game many times asked ones self. Did this stupid SOB actually drop that ball on purpose ? When you even have to ask that question then the player has to go, quickly. Marshal was viewed as an azzzhole by most of the team. but as I said, he was sadly, better then what we had. I will guarantee once in Chicago somehow he will be involved at close by when chaos breaks out, anywhere at 4 am in the morning. Cmon, your wife stabs you and thats an everyday occurance ? LOL We do not have as shhiiiit of a team as many of you close minded minions say we do. On another note, if anyone actually believes anything that comes from Omar or Armando, I have some real cheap ocean front property in Arizona I am willing to sell. And yes, Vernon Carey was about the worst influence on our rookie center that you could have. For that fact, our rookie center is about the worst influence on himself then anyone could have. IMO, this kid was so far overhyped last year its not funny. He got tossed around a lot and all ignored that fact because the fans in Florida loved him because he was a Gator or because his brother plays for the Steelers. Was he decent ? Yep, but his true position is at guard, not center. You all will see that when we play AZ and the 49ers this year and he gets azzzz raped many times by better dlines that he is not accustomed to. Lets all pray this Sunday that someone signs Vernon Careys useless fat azzz to at least a one year contract so we do not sign him to a one year contract. If that did happen it would be the biggest waste of money ever spent in the NFL for 367lbs of useless flubber. Like I said, its not a bad football team. Think and say what you want.
Please.. You have to refrain from being so reticent in expressing your opinions. Let us know how you Really Feel!!!
I agree with most of your post, just a question though, where do you get this information about Marshall being an azzhole according to other teammates and him demanding a parking spot? I didn't know players who demand to be traded get to have conditions about where they go and where they park? and the whole Pouncey and Carey coming to practice drunk and partying to late and so on..
Well, I'm not thrilled with Ireland, and the job he has done. HOWEVER...we still lose 4 games when we had leads in the 4th Qtr. the D is largely intact, and we still have the draft and low tier Fa's to sort through..but do not kid onesself replacing Brandon Marshall is no small thing. I like the Garrard acquisition, low cost, high upside.
Right on with ur bad self Mama..I got no problems with what you said..not sure about what you said about Pouncey but whatever..get to the stadium early, stay late, and stand the whole time when we're on defense..
yeah I remember one game back in 08 against the bills, my buddy got us club level tickets (which is ridiculous by the way), and as usual on defense we stood up screaming slamming the seats etc. and the guys behind us were like "guys can you sit down we can't see". I was like are you kiddin' me this is FOOTBALL not golf your supposed to get up and make noise every down on defense, let alone 3rd. Anyway moral of the story is that some dolphins fans really pissed me off and that's just one example why people say we don't have real fans.
Excellent post!!! The fact our defense came in totally out of shape did not help matters either. Remember the cramps and their inability to stop anybody for the first 6 games. Henne and the offence actually played quite well and I have no doubt had the defense played like they ended we would have had a few more W's.
Momma...way to use your opinions to skew some of the facts.... I don't totally disagree with you but if the result was what your opinion was, you justified your opinion, then if the results were not what you wanted you ignore any facts anyway.... You're like the kid to takes his ball and goes home because someone else didn't follow his rules ?? 1) Manning didn't want to come here. Period. I personally agree with you that physically, he's not going to ever be the same and likely won't be nearly as successful as he has been in the past... Despite all that, the chance that he may be healthy enough was certainly worth chasing after him. 2) Flynn...I agree with you also that a) he had too small a resume to make a positive determination (2 games and 4 yrs under Philbin) and b) Philbin's push to either acquire him or not would be enough for me to be satisfied... We didn't get him, but we don't really know how hard Philbin pushed for him. He chose Seattle because he felt more comfortable there. Did he not want to tie his career to Philbin or was it the other way around ?? This obviously has to play itself out as to how successful he's going to be, but if he takes Seattle to the promised land in a season or two, we're going to look pretty silly.... 3) Smith...well one decent season in 6 doesn't a franchise QB make, but the fact is he DID take his SF team to the second round of the playoffs... 4) So now Ireland had ONE year to make an impact with talent here ?? Well, some argue he's been here for 4 yrs and that's enough. Some argue that the first 3 don't count because of Quitcells. Ok, but you can't really judge a GM in anything less than 3 yrs...so he'll get one more year to acquire better talent. Add in the fact that he's had to 'change in the middle' with Philbin coming on board this year (different offensive and defensive schemes from the previous 4 yrs). So he may have as much as 3 more years grace, given the normal standard for a GM. A blanket statement that the guy has to go after this season is....wrong. 5) Marshall was a locker room/on the field/off the field cancer and had to go. It was a failed experiment with a kid that has a tremendous amount of talent. I can't fault them for signing him and I can't fault them for trading him. The fact that they got 2 3rd rounders in return is proof that Irish may not be as bad as some would think he is... I'd call the trade even, considering we did get two years work from him, albeit not the stats and game-changing we all expected. 6) We do have a lot of questions right now, despite your optimism. A few are: questions at QB with new scheme. OL - while I agree that Carey was done about August last year, I'm not going to call him names because he served this team well for 8-9 yrs. Not long ago he was our savior at LT because we didn't/couldn't find anyone to upgrade with. Pouncey...I don't know what games you saw, but I saw a kid that got better as the season went on, despite the injuries at other positions. Perhaps his more natural position is G, but he served us well at C and certainly didn't embarrass himself. I didn't see him getting thrown around like a rag doll all of last season as you imply. However, at this point, RG and RT are holes we don't have filled. TE - will Clay be the TE/FB/h-back in this O ?? Fasano is serviceable, but that's it on the roster. WR - While common theory is that a bunch of #2's will be good enough with the WCO, we still have a big hole with Marshall being gone. Is Clay going to develop ?? Who is going to be our LDE/OLB now that Langford is gone ?? Who's going to be that complement to Wake ?? Will someone in the group of Jones, Clemons, Culver, Wilson, Marshall, Carroll ever produce at the S spots ? At this point, both spots are questions. So we have a lot of holes right now and while we have a few guys who may develop, they have to do that first. Admittedly, FA and the draft aren't over yet, but none of us really see a plan from the FO and coaching staff to judge where we are yet... 7) I can't say we are good team...can't say we are a bad team. There are too many questions to be answered first. You rant on about how bad things are then say we don't have a bad team ?? Perhaps you are the one that should relax a bit and not everyone else ?? Just a thought....
