Haven't seen a ton of Irvin, admittedly so no comment on his game, but I remember last year when I was interning as a coach at a local high school here and we had a WVU scout come in to the office before practice. He was going to be there for the entire practice to evaluate our right guard as a potential future Mountaineer. And the scout was this tall, gentleman who was very nice and had just got done evaluating a HS prospect at a rival school. I was sitting in the head coach's office with the rest of the staff and this scout and just talking football. The head coach asks the scout, "you guys are still running the 3-3-5 right?" And the scout answers "yes and we got the Irvin kid." When he mentioned Irvin, he made a huge smile. He goes "he can rush the passer and we're hoping to widen him out even more this year, out to the 9 [technique]. Very talented." That was the final question of the conversation and we left it at that, but it always stuck in my head. The scout lit up when he mentioned Irvin.

He is really RAW from what I can tell but he has the tools to be a very productive player. Alen that is pretty cool story thanks for sharing.

I'll have to watch him soon. I'm interested. No problem, there were many interesting stories when I was there. The OL coach I was learning from was an offensive lineman at UCF many years back and is close to the FSU coaching staff. We basically implemented FSU's zone protections when I was there. But the guy was hilarious. Helluva coach but didn't give a damn about many things. Ask him about the kick-slide executed by the freshman left tackle (who I was in charge of developing when I was there and that guy was talented. 6'3 or 6'4" with quick feet, 14 size shoes and had a 4.0 GPA. Guy was a sponge when it came to absorbing the info. Would come to me after every play, "coach, that better? What I do wrong this time?" )? He goes, "**** it, we won't be using that **** anyways." Ask him about the plays being ran? "Man, back when I was an offensive coordinator, all we did was run. Trap left, trap right. Counter left, counter right. Power left, Power right. That was our offense and hell, we didn't win many games, but **** we competed."

    It was hilarious.

Todd, interesting pick of Josh Robinson. Went to UCF practices last summer and watched his game. Talented corner that's fluid and can mirror well, but got some crap from coaches about his work ethic. In his defense, it was hot as hell, but they ended up throwing him on special teams at the end of one practice as a consequence of his lazy habits. First kickoff, he commits a penalty. Offsides I think it was. Gets chewed out by O'Leary.

So my pick, #71 is not due until 10pm eastern according to the schedule. I"d normally PM my bulletin since its coming up soon and I'm off to work, however, some of the bulletin guys are picking around me and so I'm going to hold off :tongue2: Plus Miami is picking ahead of me and we all know how that is going... :shifty: I also MAY be looking to trade down, but not too far.

I like Streeter. I think he has monster upside. Not sure where he'll go in the draft, but his size/athleticism is very enticing.
