I believe it was a Howard Nets shirt.

That it was. The NBA pulled it. But it was a Dwight Howard-Nets shirt that had a note saying that the actual number would be used once it was assigned to the player. NBA pulled the page after a little while. There are screencaps all over the internet though. Feel free to go find it yourself, R&R.

Thank goodness. There was speculation from SI.com that Sloan would be interested in the job. I'd sign for that now.

Must be thinking they can beat the HEat after having 2 wins against them already this year.....ask the Celtics how that went for them, last year....

I'm torn on this news. I'm glad that DH is willing to fight this year to give the playoff run a shot, but now we Orlandoans gotta put up with this nonsense again next season.

Nobody is proclaiming that Orlando would beat Miami in the playoffs, but if any team out there matches up decently with them, I think it is the Magic.

For what it's worth, I really do think that SVG has done an outstanding job of keeping this team competitive this year while dealing with the drama all season. Van Gundy never really gets the credit he deserves (especially from guys on this forum) but I think he should seriously be considered in the coach of the year talk, as long as the Magic can claim at least the 3 seed.

Phil Jackson or Jerry Sloan. Either coach in New York would be outstanding.

Strong rumors that Beasley is close to being traded to the Lakers, with Steve Blake going to Portland and Jamal Crawford to Minnesota. Blake came out and warmed up with L.A. in pre-game so who knows.

I can't imagine that the Lakers go the rest of the season with Fisher and a rookie as his backup at the PG position. If this move goes down, another one has to follow.

That deal may be going down after to the game tonight because Crawford is out tonight for no real reason. That could be the reason the Knicks are up by 20 :shifty:

Easily the ugliest game all season. Worst defense I've seen. Tons of miracle shots by the Pacers. Horrible officiating. Lou Williams and Thad Young throw up brick after brick while Evan Turner and Jrue go 16-19... Not our night at all. But, at least I'm now convinced Evan Turner is for real. Could of scored 40 easily if he wasn't standing around the three point line while Collins allows LouBrickVille to throw up awful shot after awful shot. Sigh. Can't wait for him to opt out in the offseason.

Antoni apparently knew what the hell was going on with his team.

And Jerry Sloan coaching the Knicks would at least turn them into a credible NBA team.

Holy crap, I have never heard Tom T. speak before tonight while watching the Bulls-Heat game. That voice doesn't match his body. It's like Dick Vitale took over his voicebox. Painful to listen to.

It's a strong draft and L.A. doesn't really want to take on additional salary if they can help it. Otherwise, I would agree with you. Draft picks, under the new CBA are much more valuable and L.A. will need to replace overpriced veterans with talented youngsters.

Blake played tonight so who knows if the deal really has him going elsewhere or not.

    I'm a Cavs fan.

Dwight has handled this much worse than LeBron did.

He's actually probably done exactly what he wants - if he stays, there is no way for them to surround him with talent - they've been assuming he was going to leave up until 12 hours before hte deadline, so there is no way to suddenly shift and get him talent. They'll try again in the offseason, but with no guarantee that Dwight will stay past the trade deadline, it'll be hard to get much done.

Then Dwight will just say, "see - they couldn't surround me with talent so I have to leave!" and be gone.

I know some will disagree - but when these superstars demand moves be made on the short term to get them to stay, it ruins teams long term. The Cavs signing Larry Hughes and Donyell Marshall and the Magic giving huge money to guys like Gilbert and Hedo are what tanked those teams.

I'm not saying it is completely the stars' faults, as the GMs were inept, too - but building a team on the fly like that rarely works out.

First deal of the day is done:

The Philadelphia 76ers have acquired G/F Sam Young from the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for a draft pick.
The Grizzlies were shopping the swingman and the Sixers were looking to add depth on the wing, so this deal makes sense for both sides. Young is a solid defender and should be a solid addition for the Sixers going forward. The first domino of deadline day has fallen.

Camby to Houston. The Rockets will send projects Jonny Flynn and Hasheem Thabeet, as well as a second-round pick, to the Blazers. It's a "win-now" move by Houston, who figure to use Camby and Sam Dalembert in some kind of timeshare at center. Camby was only playing 22.3 minutes per game in Portland and should be able to salvage something in that range going forward.

Stephen Jackson to spurs for RJ and a 1st
