I think this is actually a great idea as well. Hopefully it will help some of these kids get a frame of reference on what being an NFL player is all about.

I hope that the teams of those players rub it in their face ( in a anti-rude manner) and the players become more aggressive in trying to achieve goals such as the HoF.

That is a great idea and good for the NFL.

They should also go make them visit the disabled NFL players who the NFL won't give any disability insurance. You know, the ones that can't walk.

Just the other side of the coin. :)

Not only that, but maybe, just maybe it will give them a desire to be great, and make some of them appreciate the opportunity they are being given to go great things and hopefully that will make them realize they should act like rolemodels not get themselves into trouble and squander the brilliant opportunity for greatness that lies before them.

I think this is one of those things that sounds great when you say it fast, but it is in reality, pointless. Its nothing more than an empty "solution", to a problem that requires real answers. The players it would actually affect, are the ones that don't need the extra "rah-rah". The ones that do need it will think it is stupid. This is a waste of time.

I think that, in every walk of life there are always those who are sitting on the fence. If this can convince even just a few to get off of the fence on the right side then it's worth it.

I think Chris Henry and Pacman Jones should camp out over in Canton for a few nights. Maybe it will inspire them to do something positive in their life.

What will going to Canton do to stop guys that are acting like thugs? Would Irvin really have not paid hookers and snorted coke if he had went to Canton as a rookie? Lawerence Taylor? Cmon now, I guess it doesn't hurt but lets not kid ourselves. The idiots will always be idiots regardless of what people that have been there and done that tell them. People have to learn from their own mistakes.

I don't know man. Little things like this can change peoples who perspective on life. One instance of it is when Irvin was inducted into the HoF and he made his speech. A guy was listening to it on the radio and was going to commit suicide. On his way to the location, he turned his car around.

I think these types of things can be valuable experiences to these youngsters coming into the league who have had trouble in thier past or present. It coudl also change their future and help them make the right decisions if they look at that Gale Sayers statue for example, and say to themselves " I can be like him", " I have that talent, I have that potential".

I hope so but honestly look at Irvin, he was a POS and he still made the HOF. How many of them look at him and say hey I can cheat on my wife, run around like a fool and I'll still make the HOF like Irvin and Deion? I appreciate the effort by the league but I still think idiots will always be idiots. I am a Sgt. in the Army and I deal with young Pvts all the time, I am 35 and I try to talk to tell the Pvts about finances, women (lol), family, life, etc. Some listen but really when I'm not there they are going to do whatever they want. Honestly I don't like the league listening to Irvin I think hes completely full of ****.
