I always liked Peterson when I watched LSU, but they hardly ever used him regardless of which bad QB was in.
I know. Disturbing. But I'm going with a theme right now that for this position, probably more so than ANY other position...a lack of college production is no longer a fit reason to ding a guy heavily. You have to look at the core skills. Peterson was an extremely high recruit as a receiver and he was asked to bulk up and play tight end. That transition can take a while and when Jordan Jefferson/Jarrett Lee are your passers and NCAA trends are leaning away from using Tight Ends in the passing game...perfect storm.
I would not be surprised if Chase Ford will be one of those Sam Shields/UM untapped potential prospects.
I don't think the Phins will use a relatively high pick on a TE, although I think a great passcatching TE is an invaluable asset to a team. I get the feeling we are content with Fasano and Clay.
