Have you paid attention to the Mannings in the past? The entire family is known for their power plays. Archie and Eli did it when Eli was drafted. What most of you do not know is the power plays that Archie makes with his alma mater.
Thats cool and all but, this isnt mannings of the past or anything else for that matter, this is a unique situation and this is the now... and this is about what he wants and what he is going to do "now", obviously its a delicate situation, and needs to be handled in a smart and reasonable fashion. (no one knows that better than him i'm sure). I just doubt he'd be selfish enough to not attempt to coexist with a new coaching staff, It's flat out stupid in my opinion. He'd be coming for 3 reasons, to prove he isnt finished, prove he can still play, and to win a championship.... So I fail to see why he wouldn't be willing to work with a coach on succeeding, when what the coach WANTS to run is a style of play manning is FAMILIAR with........ He knows he's coming to a new environment with new...well..EVERYTHING..... so Family power plays of the "past" mean absolutely nothing to this situation imho. As I said before He is a class act of his own, and seems to be very humble about everything thats going on... I'm very anxious to see this press conference today.
Isn't the bolded part an accurate description of Brady? His arm is nothing to write home about either but he knows where to go with the ball.
That makes sense. There are decent reasons for not wanting to sign him, but his needing his own specially tailored offense isn't one of them. Nor is the chance that signing him may mean we'd have to also sign a couple of his guys like Saturday and Wayne.
So if Tom Brady beats a bunch of teams that don't have a winning record, it is because he is the great Tom Brady, but if Matt Moore has some good games in his first season with a lot of starts, well it is just because the teams he beat sucked.
Absolutely not. Brady's deep ball is probably the best in the business. And Brady has more than enough zip on the ball to get it in small spaces. Flynn's arm is average. Please tell me you are not implying that Flynn and Brady are in the same class (I know you are not, but it comes off as if you are).
Interesting that in throws 30+ yards this year: Flynn 3-3, 134 yards, 2 TD Brady 1-15, 46 yards, 0 TD I am not saying that Flynn has the arm of an Elway, but his accuracy is pretty darn good on deep throws and he has more than enough zip on his out route throws. His pass at the 1:05 is a tad underthrown, but his accuracy leading Nelson on a 50 yard pass in the air allowing for Nelson to keep his body between the ball and defender is pretty good. His pass at the 2:10 mark is just a thing of beauty.
