Bro I'm about to put your 2 first rounders under my draft picks and remove Forte from my Roster. I guess you want me around 55 million under the cap. Hello Free agency and 3 first round picks.
Random but figured I'd ask anyway; anyone get the 12 issues of The Economist magazine? If so, do you recommend it? They're offering a 1 dollar per issue.
Just FYI Owen Daniels and Eric Winston can be had for reasonable prices. I'd like a starting FS for one or maybe both of them.
Everyone must be holding out on some Vontae Davis, Wake, Marshall, Long pipe-dream deal. 3 words. ante up biatches Was that good enough Sking?
Hey Paul, I'd love to hear what the self-proclaimed GML guru thinks of the trades I've made so far.........flame away

02/05/12 - Denver Broncos trade QB Adam Weber $465,000 and CB Chris Harris $465,000 to the New York Jets for RB Joe McKnight $490,000 and DT Marcus Dixon $490,000. I'd give the edge to the Jets here. I liked Weber coming out last year. I think he can make the team and be at worst a 3rd developmental guy at qb. I think he has some potential to grow into a solid starter. Chris Harris (not the safety, but the rookie corner from Kansas) played early and often last year for the Broncos and their improving defense. McKnight has been somewhat of a bust for the Jets. Marcus Dixon could be a nice player but jury is still out on him. 02/06/12 - Denver Broncos trade TE Julius Thomas $465,000 to the Pittsburgh Steelers for OG Chris Kemoeatu $3,577,000 Steelers move $3m in salary. I'm not a big fan of Kemoeatu. But you get somewhat that has exp along the offensive line. Julius Thomas, one reception for 5 yards last year after being a 4th round pick. So you've got potential vs experience. I'd call this one a push. 02/06/12 - Denver Broncos trade a 7th round pick (#217 overall) to the Indianapolis Colts for RB Joseph Addai $4,760,000. Broncos taking on more salary here, and I see PSG that you've put Addai on the block after you traded the 7th rounder for him. Seems a waste of a 7th round pick. I haven't been watching the Addai injury news wire, maybe you were waiting on some good news or something? Addai has had some injuries last few years. He'll be 29 when the season starts. Oh the life of an NFL running back. Used and abused, underpaid and then tossed aside. I suppose I'd give the edge to the Colts in that they got something. 02/07/12 - Denver Broncos trade RB Willis McGahee $1,900,000 to the Jacksonville Jaguars for a 6th round pick (#166 overall) and a 7th round pick (#199 overall). It's interesting that after trading for Addai, you then turn around and trade McGahee. He really overacheived last year... continues to overachieve. I think the salary was palatable at just $1.9m. For sixth and seventh round picks? I guess it's a push honestly. Depends on where he falls in your running back rotation. 02/07/12 - Denver Broncos trade a 4th round pick (#121 overall) to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for WR Dezmon Briscoe $490,000 A 4th round pick is a little much. But Briscoe is an improving player after originally being drafted by the Bengals in the sixth round. He's enjoyed a renaissance with the Bucs in 2011. 6 TD's will get anyone's attention, with just 35 receptions. 6 foot 2. A 4th is a little much, but I like the improving trend line that Briscoe has been setting, so I'd favor the Broncos here. 02/07/12 - Denver Broncos trade RB Knowshon Moreno $855,000 to the Green Bay Packers for a 5th round pick (#156 overall). Finally jettisoning the oft injured running back. Never really lived up to the name in Denver. An interesting ingredient to the Packers offense if he can finally stay healthy. I'd say this was a push given Moreno's salary at under a million. 02/08/12 - Denver Broncos trade DB Rahim Moore $465,000 and a 5th round pick (#153 overall) to the Philadelphia Eagles for DT Cullen Jenkins $2,750,000. It's interesting that a guy I took, Quintin Carter, continues to out perform one of the highest rated safeties last year Rahim Moore... but I digress. Getting Cullen Jenkins is a good move IMO. The Packers really missed him last year on their defense and IMO was one of the main reasons their D went from top 5 to bottom 5. Advantage Broncos. 02/14/12 - Denver Broncos trade LB Von Miller $1,460,000 to the Buffalo Bills for DE Chris Long $2,569,000, WR David Nelson $490,000 and a 2nd round pick (#38 overall). I believe I commented on this one already but it's fairly even. I like me some Von Miller though. Also like Chris Long. Two of my favorite players. 02/14/12 - Denver Broncos trade a 2nd round pick (#57 overall) to the Minnesota Vikings for LB Chad Greenway $5,900,000. Well Greenway is finally living up to that first round selection a few years ago, staying healthy helps. That's a lot of salary, but a late second... slight edge to the Broncos. 02/15/12 - Denver Broncos trade QB Time Tebow $1,942,500, DE Elvis Dumervil $14,000,000 a 1st round pick (#25 overall) and a 7th round pick (#199 overall) to the Cleveland Browns for LB Chris Gocong #3,700,000, a 1st round pick (#4 overall) and a 2nd round pick (#60 overall).[/QUOTE] Ah yes... your coup d'etat? er coup de grace? Lets try to break this one down scientifically. Tebow has a mid to late first round grade. Dumervil would normally have a late first, early second grade, but that salary is just too high. Lets give him a late second round grade. The 25th overall... And the seventh. For the #4 overall, a late 2nd and Chris Gocong. So it really comes down to how you value Tebow. If I've overvalued him, then the Broncos have won this trade. If he's valued correctly, it's fairly even right? two late firsts, a late 2nd for a high first and late second plus Gocong. That's even. If I've undervalued him, then the Browns win. IMO it's fairly even. Oh I forgot, God is on his side... nevermind, Browns win!! This is just my opinion and you can take it for what it's worth.
I'm supposed to be working. But it's Saturday and it's the middle of February. Tax season is just getting started

Boik wanted it... Boik gets it... 1) Denver trades: TE Julius Thomas $465,000 Pittsburgh trades: Chris Kemoeatu $3,577,000 So I already talked about this one 2) The Indianapolis Colts and Pittsburgh Steelers have agreed to the following trade: Indianapolis trades Jerry Hughes, LB, $635,000.00 to Pittsburgh for three draft selections (5.152 ,6.184, 7.216). Hughes was a fan favorite here on thephins prior to the draft. Oh how far he has fallen. Three late picks. I'd say the Colts won here because of how much of a disappointment Hughes has been just one sack in two seasons. Can he regain his form in Pittsburgh? 3) Chargers send: Donald Butler 490,000 Travis LaBoy 1,500,000 Steelers send: Ryan Clark 3M Well, I think this is a win for the Steelers. Not sure why the Chargers (a team that plays in Denver once a year) would go after a player that can't play there.. but alas. Butler is a solid player IMO. La Boy is okay. I mean I like Clark, but how much of his success is because he gets to play next to Troy P? 4) Steelers agree to trade: RB Jon Dwyer $490,000 Seahawks agree to trade: CB Walter Thurmond $490,000 meh Dwyer gives the Seahawks another big body at running back. Thurmond I'm not high on. 5) Seahawks trade: OT Russell Okung $1,480,000 Steelers trade: LB Lawrence Timmons $2,625,000 DT Ziggy Hood $600,000 DE/OLB Travis LaBoy $1,500,000 It seems Okung gets traded every GML season I actually like this trade for the Seahawks, they go three for one. Timmons is a very good player, the gem of the three. Hood has been somewhat of a disappointment. La Boy (didn't I just see his name somwhere ) But the Steelers get their LT to finally protect Big Ben. left tackles are valuable. I just find it funny that Okung always seems to get traded. I mean if he was that good, wouldn't you guys hold on to him? Oh yeah, Okung ranks 46th in tackles according to PFF. I can see clearly now the rain is gone. 6)Pitt agrees to trade: James Harrison 5.315M Jason Worilds 490K Larry Foote 3M Detroit agrees to trade: Titus Young 465K Ernie Sims 1.5M Javid Best $640,500 3-87 5-151 That's a lot of salary going to Detroit. Has Harrison hit his wall (like the receivers that usually run into him)? Has he lost his effectiveness thanks to the NFL rules? I don't know. I think he still has some good years left in him. Worilds is going to be special. I guess the Steelers are switching to a 43 with the addition of Sims? Best has the consussion issues. Young can fly but how does he fit in with the talent already in Pitt? And I guess the 3rd and 5th rounders are supposed to even out the trade? Seriously... think the Lions won this... But I guess both teams are switching defenses, so perhaps they got what they wanted? 7) Packers send db Sam Shields 490,000 to Steelers for rb John Clay 465,000 I like Sam Shields, this was a great trade for the Steelers. They jettison another back but any time you get a starting corner for a backup running back, you've made a good move. 8) Pittsburgh sends Round 5.151 (from Detroit) Tampa Bay sends Roy Miller $565,000 Ah yes, Roy Miller... way back when I drafted him coming out of Texas for the Chargers I believe. A fifth round pick back then... traded for a fifth again. I guess it's even 9) Pittsburgh agrees to trade: Rashard Mendenhall $650,000 Houston agrees to trade: Antonio Smith $5,500,000 4th round pick 124 overall Steelers trade another running back. I think they got rid of every back and every linebacker on the roster no? Antonio Smith is a good player though, that's a lot of salary. Smith enjoyed somewhat of a renaissance last year in Houston in their 34 front. But if the Steelers are switching to a 43 perhaps this is odd? Although Smith was solid back when Arizona went to the SB. Mendenhall... another running back who has been dinged. He's solid. but this makes me wonder that the Texans are looking to trade Arian Foster... what does E have up his sleeve? hmmm...I suppose this trade is leaning to the Steelers given there is a 4th round pick included too. 10) GB trades Derek Sherrod $675,091 for Antonio Smith 5.5M Chris Carter 465K And then Smith (plus Chris Carter, rookie from Fresno State who barely played last year) is turned around for Sherrod, T first round pick last year, from the Packers. Sherrod just started to get going last year as a rookie late in the season when he broke his leg against the Chiefs. Clearly Boik has a plan to rebuild that Steel Curtain offensive line. So Pitt really trades Mendenhall and Carter for Sherrod and a 4th round pick. That's fairly decent. Nice job Boik. And lets see what he has going on with the running backs and linebackers...to be continued
