Here are the Dolphins picks. i like the first 2 but not thrilled about the third round pick. Getting the O line fixed will allow us to know if Matt Moore is the real deal, Dwayne Allen should add an extra dimension to our offense.

    Pick 8
    [IMG] Miami Dolphins [IMG]
    .
Offense Rank 22: Passing rank 23 Rushing rank 11
Defense Rank 6: Passing rank 24, Rushing rank 3
Team needs: QB DE OT OG TE
    .
Matt Moore has done a good enough job to be Miami’s starting QB next year, unless of course the Dolphins go after Peyton Manning. Regardless of who is starting at the QB, it would be some sort of joke to have Marc Colombo starting at RT again. Look for the Dolphins to really solidify their Offensive line with the top line available Riley Reiff.
    .
With the 8[SUP]th[/SUP] pick the Miami Dolphins select:
    Riley Reiff, OT, Iowa

    Pick 42
    [IMG] Miami Dolphins [IMG]
    .
Offense Rank 22: Passing rank 23 Rushing rank 11
Defense Rank 6: Passing rank 24, Rushing rank 3
Team needs: QB DE OT OG TE
    .
The NFL is a copy cat league. The Patriots had success with Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez this year and people called it the year of the tight end. I’m sure their divisional rivals noticed and will want to ensure that they too have some fire power at the tight end position. At the moment the 3 tight ends the dolphins currently have are Anthony Fasano, Will Yeatman and Jeron Musturd.
    .
With the 42[SUP]nd[/SUP] pick the Miami Dolphins select:
    Dwayne Allen, TE, Clemson

I think if I could drop down a bit, or not, and secure Decastro and Dwayne Allen..Then you would be securing the two best college players at their positions..We have an inside track on Reiff to know his upside so either way, I like the mock.

Not a fan of any mock that has us taking a lineman in the first round. To many resources spent. We need bigger impact players at other spots - if we cannot find a RT or RG already on the team, in free agency or the latter rounds Ireland should be fired. You do NOT need to fill a line with all first rounders to have it perform at a super bowl level.

a draft strategy, and the combination of talents relative to our needs, of Decastro and Allen, change certain philosophies imo..especially if Allen would be available with our 2nd pick...Which I don't believe he will.

Assuming Flynn is brought in, then I can see that as a possibility. I prefer not to take a G in the first, but if he's the best player at a position of need, so be it. With the rookie salary cap, that decision isn't as skewing to your overall salary cap as it used to be. If we added Flynn and did trade down, then you'd have to consider the possibility of that first rounder being a pass rusher like Ingram or Upshaw or even a guy like Kuechly to play MLB with the idea of putting Dansby outside. Such a trade down might even net another 2nd or 3rd that lets get an OT like Potter or a S like Rambo.

Edit: I forgot Rambo is reportedly returning for another season.

yeah I think if we go with Flynn it gives us great options in the draft..Wouldn't mind that trade down, pick up an extra 2, use it to move back up in the first, secure two first round talents...Something like Kendall wright and Dwayne Allen for the offensive junkies, Kooch and Dwayne for balance.

    the next dimension
Sort of Ireland's MO. Jake Long was the best tackle available and Pouncey was the best guard/center available. He seems to have inability to identify late round talent on the o-line (Thomas, Jerry, Gardener, Murphy)

Personally I would not mind another first round OL pick. Game are won and lost in the trenches (IMO). One guy that I would love to have is Whitney Mercilus DE, Illinois. Whitney could play DE in a 4-3 set or OLB in a 3-4 set, the guy is a relentless player. Gives 100% all the time and is productive.

I wouldn't mind Reiff if we can't move down in the first.

Also, why do people keep neglecting the fact that safety is a need for us? Bell is old and has never been anything special in coverage. And our FS depth chart is a joke right now. I realize this isn't a safety draft class, but Mark Barron could be a special player and there are CBs that I could see playing FS very well (Kirkpatrick and Gilmore).

I like this mock, though. But, if Vinny Curry is available with our 2nd pick though, I think he needs to be taken over any TE. Fasano isn't terrible and Clay has potential.

I don't see Allen being there at 42, I see mock drafts that have him dropping but I don't buy it he'll be gone in the first round.

that 1st round pick is a disaster, rather have upshaw, tannehill or coples not in this particular order
