Yea, I call BS on that "killer instinct" stuff. I don't believe in that. I want the better basketball player. Lebron is a better basketball player than Kobe.

Not getting into Kobe vs. LeBron but I do think there is a "Killer Instinct" or "Clutch Gene". Some players take it to a new level when the game is on the line.

I too, believe in clutch. That is why I would rather have Robert Horry than LeBron on my team. Brent Barry anyone? Heck yeah. Championship.

Kevin Durant is looking like the best player in the league IMO....but I'd still rather have 20 other guys take a big shot down the stretch.

Yea, I don't buy that for two reasons. First, there is no such thing as a Clutch Gene. Second, the guys who usually take it to another level are the guys who were great to begin with.

Anyway, this is a moot point because Lebron out performs Kobe in the post season, so I still don't know what Bird is talking about.

There have been many non-great players who have been clutch playoff performers. Guys like Robert Horry, Chauncey Billups, Derek Fisher. There have also been many great players who never came through in the clutch. And yes, LeBron could only dream of hitting as many big shots as Kobe has in his career. Making as many key defensive plays as Kobe. Not a knock on LeBron as he still has plenty of time to do it, but right now, there's no question that Kobe has come through much more. He's top 10, maybe top 5 all time when it comes to big plays. So far LeBron is known for ****ting the bed in both of his Finals appearances, especially in the 4th quarters.

Again, Lebron has out performed Kobe in the playoffs. Stats prove this. Also, Kobe has more than sh!t the bed during some of his finals appearances. So why is that just used against Lebron?

Playoff stats don't determine clutchness. Clutchness can't really be determined by stats, it's something you have to witness with your own 2 eyes. As for Kobe he **** the bed vs. the Pistons and Pacers. 2 finals out of 7. Like I said, LeBron can only dream of making as many clutch plays on offense and defense as Kobe has in his career. Before LeBron's career ends, he will get that chance. And maybe he does it, but to compare LeBron to Kobe now, it's just ridiculous. I've seen Kobe make play after play in key moments. I've seen LeBron make some key plays down the stretch, but not in the Finals, and not nearly as many as Kobe.

Aside from last season and depth wise including, Lebron could only dream of having a team as good as Kobe has had behind him in his career. Regardless of clutch factor I will take Lebron due to age.

I call BS on this entire post. You trust your eyes, I'll trust the stats. Lebron has had moments like Kobe has had during the playoffs, and has performed better.

Also, it wasn't two finals he sh!t the bed. His scoring in the Finals is lower than his career totals, he shoots worse, and doesn't rebound or pass the ball much better. Basically, he didn't win the 5 finals by him self like the world thinks he did. He performs worse during the Finals. His team won the Finals, not him.

Tune in to the Sixers game if you want to see the worst officiating you've ever seen. Violet Palmer is the biggest piece of **** ref I have seen in any sport. Put this ***** back in the WNBA.

Many more clutch shots than LeBron no matter how you want to spin it. Playoff stats doesn't determine clutch plays. LeBron can average 50/20/20 a game shooting 90% from the field. If he disappears in the 4th quarter like he has in the Finals, he's no clutch player.

Also many more games played than Lebron. Also a better shooter than Lebron. Also, his team is in need of shots like that while more often than not the team Lebron is playing for isn't counting on a last second jumpshot to win the game.

However, he's not better than Lebron. You take the imaginary clutch factor/clutch gene while I take the better player in every phase of the game.

Also due to the clutch plays of others. Don't try and make it seem like Kobe hasn't had the luxury of other players on his team nailing clutch shots to win those championships (or send them to the finals) as well. Not to mention Kobe has never taken a team as terrible as the Cavs were to a championship.

Kobe made the playoffs like what, once after Shaq left and before Pao came to LA? His "clutchness" is so overrated.

Let's also not forget to mention that I said LeBron will get his chance to make many clutch shots in key moments. Kobe has had many more opportunities, which is why saying LeBron is a clutcher player than Kobe right now, when Kobe's already done it, many times is just ridiculous.

Oh, he wasn't. It didn't change the fact that Kobe still didn't play well. But no one had Shaq like series during those 3 Finals, so it was more of a group effort than one man dominating.

I never said it was one man dominating. I've said Kobe has made many, many more key plays in key moments than LeBron has. I don't see how any Heat fan can disagree with this.

Im not debating the fact Kobe is clutch. I just feel like you're making it sound like Kobe has single handedly won all those championships which isn't the case. I simply take Lebron over Kobe due to age. If it's the very last shot of one game I'll take Kobe but otherwise I don't think you can pass on Lebron.

I'm not denying that. I'm saying that doesn't matter. He's had more opportunities, so of course he has many more plays. However, Lebron is clearly the better player.

Ah I see. Obviously he hasn't hit as many by volume, like you said Kobe has had much more opportunity.

I didn't say he has. I'm saying that doesn't matter. Of course he has, he's had more chances and he's a better shooter. However, Lebron out plays him both in the regular season and the playoffs by a lot. This is a fact. Hence, he is a better player.
